Rafael"Falito" Rivera's 2005 full tube chassis Rx8.. goal is 6.9@195+mph on a 2 rotor

"Falito" is legendary in the world of rotary drag racing in Puerto Rico. he currently owns the title for the worlds fastest 13B in his series 5 Rx7. 7.44@181+mph.. Falito said with this new engineered Rx8 by Tim Mcamis race cars he could run 6.9 with his 13B..
the car is sponsored by a puerto rican technical college. 6.9 with a 2 rotor would be a serious accomplishment..

YUP, I mentioned it on the "Where's Ari" post. Do you know if he is coming with a new engine combination, or is it the same one as the 7.44 et?

Me likes it!

BTW - Have you heard anything about the Assassyn? Any news on it?

If anyone is capable of doing it would surely be Falo.

Why would he limit himself with a two rotor when Abel is running a 3 rotor in the same class? It's the same class right? Anyhow, looks baddass.

Because he's the rotor king!
Actualy he's not limiting himself but learning the limits of his present combination. When he's satisfied that there's no more left to be gained with the present combination then he'll move on.

I agree with ya Crispeed. He is testing the 13b to the very end...I have a friend from PR and he tells me most guys fell off there chairs when he dropped the carbs and went to stand alone...From what I understand that helped him too..

Its a really accomplishment what he has done.... I happen to think Jesus Pedilla is master as well.... 9's out of an 13b N/A motor??? I mean most turbo guys can only dream that.... including me, however I'm more a SCCA guy..But I still respect Rafelito more than anyone..

From 7.66 best ET on the webber + Turbo + NOS setup to a 7.44 ET on the stand alone setup, theres a runor around that the 7.44 pass was off the bottle!

Same car, that's why we haven't heard from him in a while, again rumors are that they made some changes to the chassis in order to keep it (even more) straight when launching.

No NOS huh? man! thats pretty cool.

Could anyone fill me in on how Jesus Pedilla runs 9's from an N/A 2 rotor? HE was banned with the 3 rotor-N/A I know... Whats the secret? I guess I'm more fasinated more than anything. Obviously a very light FB, but his car looks like such a sleeper.

PP engine on a microtech, I belive (could be wrong) it was tuned by Rolo "the pianist" at Central Florida Turbo.

BTW - This is the only category were the rotary engine is heavier than any other!

I got to witness the first time Falo ran in the 7secs. in Salinas, P.R. This was with the old Weber setup and hydralic shifting. Very impressive. He has been at this game for a long time.

I was just talking to my friend from PR and he said that when Rafelito ran the 7.66 (or whatever it was) he had an S4 motor from an 88TII car and it was, (get this) 5 years old (the motor), and then blew soon after that.... 5 years on a car like that has to be some kind of record....

anyway......
