problems with marren fuel injectors, please read, and give your opinion

less than a year ago, i purchased set of 72lbs (750cc) injectors from marren fuel injectors. they were installed in my car, and everything was fine.

this past september, while tuning the car, we noticed that the front plugs were lighter in color than the rear plugs, suggesting that there was a difference with the injector flow. immediately, i sent the injectors back to marren to be cleaned, and sure enough the front primary injectors were flowing unevenly, the front rotor was 3% less than the rear. i received the injectors back with both injectors cleaned and flowing perfectly according to the flow sheets.

since i recieved the injectors back from marren, i have had difficutlies sealing the injectors, and Tim from that company suggested that i send them the rail and the injectors so they can fit them with the correct o ring.

i then sent them the rail and injectors, and they said that they fitted larger o rings and everything was sealing properly. and all they have to do is give me a "free" flow testing just to make sure that everything is still perfect.

i recieved a call today, they said that the injectors did not have the proper spray pattern, and flow rates are at least 5% off from normal, and the injectors need to be replaced otherwise risking the engine's life.

between the 3 week span that i recieved the injectors and sent it back to them, these injectors DID NOT even have fuel flow through. i was so concerned about the top O ring sealing that the injector clips were not installed, so no current even touched the injectors. after telling them that, Russ (another person from marren) suggested that i have very currosive agents in my gas? HOW COULD THIS BE, it is the same gas that was in the tank before they cleaned it in the first place. to add to that, i have 2 new fuel filters for each of my rails. they then went on that i could have had aluminum oxide in my fuel rail that curroded the internals of the injectors.

they claim that there are no physical damages to the injectors. and went on to say that i should send the other injectors that i got cleaned to them to be tested as well.

now, of course i cannot trust these injectors whether they were lying to make me buy new ones or not. but i sure smell something very fishy going on.

should i ask for my stuff back, and call the Better Business Bureau?

Get them back and send them somewhere else for testing... R/C maybe?
Or even forum member nick1...

Use a local shop that you can actually physically walk into. Check the Yellow pages for "injection". Most diesel shops will also deal with gas injectors as well.

I still don't know why people keep sending injectors off to "internet vendors" when most communities of any size have local shops which can provide the same service without having to pay shipping. Last time I had injectors cleaned, the shop charged $25 per, I had a printout with flow rates and patterns, and it was done the same day.

Stay on them I have delt with Russ numerous times (other stuff than rotary) and I wont be dealing with him anymore. My only reason for this is they will always try and push it off on you, they don't seem to want to work with you. My guess is you will send in your other injectors and then they will tell you those are bad as well and try and hit you with another cost of some kind.

update.....

i called to see what happenned, and they said that they openned one of the injectors and they said that the pintel was worn out. keep in mind that the injector did not flow any fuel. the last time they had fuel go through them was when they were tested by marren about 1 month ago.

a nopistons.com member who works for lindertech.com ( a company that reconditions 1/2 million injectors a year) was willing to test my injectors for free. and he did say that only about 10% of all injectors that go through his company are not good enough to be reused, some being 300k+ miles old.
so it is very hard to believe that injectors that are only several thousand miles on them, and freshly cleaned can go bad so easily.

That's what I keep hearing Aaron, but I have been unable to find someone local to me.

All the diesel shops I've talked to want the injectors IN the car for cleaning (presumably to run a bottle of fuel injecto cleaning through them).

Anyways, I send mine to forum member now.

Did I say nick12 in my earlier post? Whoops... I meant forum member now...

There has to be at least one injection shop in Toronto. Even if you can't find one, CP has a guy they use all the time.

For the record, I use Roy's Diesel in London.

i have had the injectors back for a while now, but just as an update, the 1600cc injectors that marren claimed to be needing replacement came back to me passing the tests with flying colors as far as flow and spray pattern.

Sounds like Marren needs to test their tester (or at least change the fluid & filter).
