Angry problems with a Greddy oil filter relocat

I just got a Greddy oil filter relocation kit, attempted to read Japanese, installed it anyway, started the engine, and it blew the oil filter off and sent oil all over my engine compartment.
I noticed when I put on the oil filter there was only about 1 full turn before it stopped. So I was thinking that the there wasn't enought threads to handle the oil pressure. The only other thing I could think of is somehow the return line isn't designed right and it allows back pressure to build up....but for the few seconds before it blew the oil pressure was normal.

So, any ideas???

PS: I've been doing my own work on RX-7's since 1985....So I kind of know what I am doing.

PPS: If anyone is thinking about getting one, it will only fit with a stock sway bar and it will also block all access to the oil dip-stick.

Thanks

This is a complete shot in the dark, but could the lines be directional? It wouldn't surprise me to find a one way valve in one of the fittings so oil didn't empty out of the lines after shutdown.

I found out what the problem was. When I looked at the bottom of 2 different oil filters I noticed that the threads were indented about 1 inch. This was done by the manufacturer for some reason. But on filters for other cars I noticed that the hole with the threads was flush with the bottom of the oil filter. Since this relocation assembly was designed in Japan I bet the Japanese filters are all flush with the bottom of the filter. So they never realized that the American filters were indented. So until I find the an oil filter that is flush with the bottom I can't use the relocation device.
I also found out that in the 2-3 seconds my engine was running it managed to pump out about 4 quarts of oil!

Back from the dead.

I believe the kit uses a filter from an old corolla.

My roommate had this product and it was GARBAGE. Installed correctly with the correct filter, the lines kept blowing off b/c of the shitty clamps they supply.

Was very surprised that Greddy would put a piece of **** like that on the market.

Why would you want to relocate the oil filter anyway? In it's current location it's easy to change and get to? GReddy=the sux

Eh, I kinda like their electronics and gauges. At least the stuff is readily available. Go and try to get any HK$ or Blitz parts without waiting a month. And this is speaking from a wholesaler's perspective.....
