'88 Turbo II

-Racing Beat Full Turbo Exhaust
-Bonez Race Intake
-720cc Secondary Injectors
-Apex'i S-AFC
-Turbo XS Boost Controller (Set @ 13psi)
-Rebuilt Turbo (Spools Up @ 2700k)

at the wheels...

more like the flywheel you mean!!!

dude you better get an aluminum flywheel to free up some power to the wheels. the stock 88 TII f/w is 28 lbs. i held mine in my hands and **** it was heavy compared to the 12 lb. one i put in.

im thinking 215-220 to the wheels and 250-260 at the flywheel.

im no expert but thats what i think!

Easy way to find out is put a g-tech in the car and run it.there cheap to buy and it beats guessing.

flywheel doesnt take away hp, only makes it take longer to access because of the larger inertia you have to move

but according to the conservation of energy law, the top end horsepower for your car shouldnt change, just that revving it there will take longer

Think of it like making the car lighter. Lighter flywheels have a bigger effect in lower gears, because the engine spends less energy accelerating itself.

Yes, you will probably see a gain on an inertial dyno... but that's just because (IMO) inertial dynos are a flawed way of measuring HP because they don't isolate the engine from drivetrain inertial effects. You will not see a gain on an engine dyno, or on a braked wheel dyno.

I could put a Tilton 3" clutch (basically a very tiny clutch with splines that actually hold the power) with super light wheels and ultra light drivetrain and no flywheel on a dead stock engine, and put it on a Dynojet, and it will show tremendous HP gains. Did I actually make more HP? No.

flywheels do take hp away.....

from your wheels that is. you have to figure somethin like 17% drive train loss. a lighten flywheel will lessen that % and let the wheels get that freed up hp.

the car will have the same hp but the tires will be getting more of it!!!!

anyone have anything else to say about this subject of less % drivetrain loss of HP to wheels from lighter spinning parts.
Semi-related to this, I heard every 1lb of spinning mass is worth 5lbs of dead mass on your car.

Isn't 13lbs sort of pushing it for a stock intercooler and stock turbo?

Stand alone EMS or not?
I've seen guys get way more than 250hp (flywheel) with 13psi or less even. Look at Boosted7's car (www.rx7club.com) 337hp @ 9.5psi

no clue still

Well my turbo isn't stock, it's rebuilt. The guy made it a t3/t4 hybrid and fitted it with a smaller compressor wheel. As far as fuel managment/ecu, the only thing I have is my Apex'i S-AFC, which I am running extremely rich (like 25% @ 8k)....I have heard that I am running way more than 250 to the fly...so I still have no idea....
