Transmission lube choice

What lube do you guys recommend in a FD tranny that's street driven almost daily? I changed to Mobil 1 and now the tranny groans when shifting above 5K. Not a grinding with a grinding vibration in the stick... but more of a groan. It will grind if you try to force it while it makes this noise. Is it possible that the Mobil is too slick and the synchros can't match the gear speeds? I have heard Redline is good. What do you guys think?
Thanks,
Don.

Redline 75W-90 is what I use in my '89 T2. Good stuff indeed.

My car is pretty much the same symptoms not as bad but i emailed redline and they said to use there mt-90...so use whatever weight you want but the mt-90 is supposed to do the trick.

I've heard NEO too. I've got it to go into my car. Another car I drive was much improved after putting the NEO in it.
