Ohh well opur track doesn't work that way here the rt has nothing to do with the race unless both cars hit thier dial in then the best ET wins I belive but both go on to the next round

I finally got out to the track last night for the first time ever down the 1/4. It was packed and I only got in 3 runs, the first of which blew an IC hose on the 1-2 shift

My first full run using my Toyo T1-S 255/40/17 at street tire pressure netted the following.

R/T .771
60' 2.096
1/8 8.260
MPH 97.53
1/4 12.407
MPH 121.27

I short shift first when the tires let go and spun 90% of second gear (till I let off a little) and then it hooked and went.

For my first pass, ever I was pretty pleased.

My 3rd and final pass was a horrific bog off the line getting a

60ft 2.598
1/8 8.874
MPH 97.47
1/4 13.066
MPH 119.72

There a ton left in it obviously since the seond run mattch the speed of the first after a full 1/2 sec slower 60ft... I'll get it figured out

i'm going to be forced to assume you have an FD. those times are pretty sweet and one day i'm hoping to get near there. but, i'm a long ways from it.

well, the slow times and high traps is a sure sign of bad launch. haha, i have a vid of my friends MKIV supra that did 13.9 @ 120 and he didn't get on it at all till like the 60' or something.

totallimmortal: Actually your track does work that way. If you have a better rt you get to the finish line first(if the car can hold on), it is all about who crosses the line first! Not who has the quicker time. I have had a slower 1/8th time, but came off the line before the guy next to me, so in turn crossed the finish line before him! HA, ha ! and had a passenger ! ! ! He wasnt happy and wouldnt run me with out my passenger, ******* honda's!

Now, if you run bracket racing, that is all about hitting your time closer than the other guy and not going faster than what your time is, which you still need to get a good rt to insure you get your time. Unless you expect a slow rt and you figure that into your time, then it doesnt matter as long as you hit your time you want to hit. You still have to cross the line first because they will stagger the start to make sure who crosses first is the winner.

The best way to add an attachment is either post it in a gallery somewhere else and post the link, or hit the button below this post that says "post reply" and you will be able to browse your HD for your pic.

This is through the browse button.

No at my track RT has no signifigance at all, if i dial in a 15.2 and have an rt of 2 seconds i'll still win if i run a 15.2. Maybe this isn't the normal way but i've been goin to the track for years and thats how it works

Hmm, you are probably right, Iam no track expert. I have just always seen the delay in starts between the faster car vs slower car, in order to get the cars to cross the finish line at the same time. Just seemded like who ever hits their dialed in time crosses first? I have never raced bracket, only test n tune.

I believe in bracket racing the green light for both cars is the difference between their dial-in time. So the slow car would get the green before the fast car. Just like you said in order to get them to cross the finish line at the same time and make it more competitive.

There is someting about bracket racing that i just don't get though:

Why would people want to bracket race their race cars that don't usually run very consistently when they can just bracket race something like a Honda with an automatic transmission and be a lot more consistent without having to stress performance parts and that kind of a thing? I actually have heard of some people doing the exact same thing and winning against very fast cars and taking their prize money from them like every week.

Do you really think some one who can get 900hp out of a na v8 really wants to push a honda at the track? I know someone who is like someone you are discribing and he does it for like advertiseing for his engine building skills.

Need some more track time so I can bump the boost, play with timing, and put some real tires on. Oh well.
Another year, another car! [/B]
Same mods as above except for tires/wheels, 2.5" downpipe, wallbro 190lph, July last year at Rogersville ran 14.04@98mph. Clutch finally gave out shortly after.

This weekends runs were after adding the 6 puck ACT clutch disk, removing the AC compressor, home built pinion snubber and rod to pull some of the excess negative camber out of the rear.

13.52@101 on a 2.19 60ft. 60ft time I believe shows higher than indicative for the pass, It came out of the hole well but I believe only after rolling out of the beam at a snails pace.

Still 8psi of boost on a stock S4 motor/turbo, ~8psi of boost falling off slightly towards redline. I've had the thing 6 years now and it hasn't let go.
