For any amount of buildup and any size of turbo and nos or whatever... what's the most hp out of a 13b? I was guessing around 800 but I'm just guessing.

i heard that a member of this forum is currently making 830HP or thereabouts, and they are yet to add higher octane fuel or dial up 40psi boost. i think they may well break the 1000HP mark

I assume you guys are talking flywheel? or are you talking dynojet rearwheel?

Even flywheel I can't think of many 13Bs in the state getting close, the rotorolla 13B PP Twin turbo was making close to that kind of figure, but I can't even think of any others that are over 600rwhp (dyno dynamics).

Plenty down south making over that though.

I reckon Dyson (Melbourne) would be pretty close, 164mph from a 2nd gen (and that was before NOS)

Can you tell us what this is going in? I'm assuming a drag application as those (800+hp) power levels are excessive (especially in terms of endurance) even in sports sedans. Would be nice if it was to hang together though!

I actually know the owner of this shop.
My car has a street ported, low compression rotor engine from them.

And I actually raced against that yellow FD two years ago. They brought it over to spank on us poor Koreans.
I took him off the line (my slicks vs his Nittos) and was ahead before my mishift into third/fifth.... This is before I went single turbo. I think he might be a little hesitant to come back now

 

So where abouts is this rice racing what car is it and how much hp is it making ,its not the guy on the Gold Coast with the old HIRPM r100 is it .Dont keep us all in suspense.Hey a777 you own a green series 3 dont you ,do you live at Burleigh you also own a series 6 as well or am i wrong there.Got a photo of the 7 at Performance streetcar just getting the front left hand wheel of the ground.

 

I worked for an engine builder that had a N/A 13b 4 port pumping out around 500hp in his 2nd gen. drag car. It was running 9.8 in the quarter as I recall.

 

The most i've ever heard of a no nos, turbo, blower 13B was around 360hp, and that was a two port. (Peripheral port engine.) The most VE effecient n/a engine you can have is out of a peripheral port....there is no way in hell, that a n/a 13B 4 port would put out 500hp. CJ

 

Well, maybe if they revved it out to about 16,000 or so, and rebuilt it after every run...

 

he said he shifted at 13.5k. the motor was ported almost to the water jackets (I guess that's what you'd call them in a rotary). if it ran longer than 15min it would overheat. When I went to florida once and stopped at a perfonrmance shop and told them where I was from they actually asked me if I had heard of the guy, at that time, I didn't know strickland but they told me he had a car running in the 9's. He raced in the DFW and Miami area in the early '90s, perhaps you could dig something up on him.

wow, 1000hp, thats pretty nuts. the fastest street car in canada has 1250hp. with nitrous he has 1700HP+, but thats in his big *** V8

 

You've never seen a peripheral rotor housing have you?

 

If you're talking to me, no I haven't. I doubt there are very many in existence so other than internet searches (which I care little to do) I doubt I'll ever see one. I know that peripheral relates to something close to the edge, so I'm guessing it would be a housing torn to have the largest possible port.

HAHA, the fastest maybe that was in a sanctioned event, the fastest I know of is over 1800 hp, first run down the track it got punted for not having a drag licence to run the times it did, and insufficent safety equipment, like a 'chute... It was a mid 7's Dodge duster with an indy headed big block, it saw active street duty, till no one would race it anymore at the midnight drags, it was owned by a 17 year old no less, in the 7's back in 1990 to boot, which was virtually unheard of back then... It was an outrageous car...Max
