M2 Intercooler Installation?

I have just installed an M2 Med Intercooler and having trouble getting the turbo pipe (passenger side) low enough to not interfere with the hood. I am experiencing alittle push up which is stopping the fender-hood seam to lay properly. The intercooler is hard down on the lower frame and the pipe is hard down on the turbo flange with an inch clearance under the strut bar. It appears the forward connection of the pipe to the intercooler is too high, right around the two welds of the down turn. I have trimmed the silicone connection couplers to relieve any stress in the connections. Any tips or ideas?

Thanks in advance,
André

Andre,

Is the IC down as far as it can go, almost touching the cross member underneath it? As well as the duct being positioned right? I had to trim my IC pipe since I have the efini-y pipe and even with it, my IC pipe will occasionally rub the cusco strut bar. I don't have any problem with the front piping to IC being to high though.

What I've done that helps is twist the i/c pipe toward the passenger side and then tighten it down. Still is real close though.

I wonder if M2 got a bad batch of pipes- I don't see how it could possibly fit well, and that's without the airpump. If you keep the airpump then it's even harder.

Its a close fit, but shouldn't be that close. Make sure your IC is low and snug. Can always call M2.

I have the IC harddown on the frame rail. I have even epoxied tie wrap cable blocks to the IC and tie wrap it down to the rail to lock it. I have the air pump kicked over all the way and have changed the hose to remove any interference. The passenger side turbo tube is butted up on both sides and I have worn out one of the hose clamps trying to tighten it down to hard. I can get the hood to lay properly until it sees boost then the passenger side tube pushes the hood up. I have checked the motor mounts and they appear fine. I am talking to Jason and Bryan at M2 to figure out what I have done wrong or what the solution could be to hold it down.

Thanks,
André

PS I have pictures I could email if anyone feels they might have a solution.

PS: For those that have had successful installations of the M2 IC and Tubes please post any particulars so that we can correct any errors in our installations.

Thanks in Advance,

Andre,

E-mail the pics to me and I'll compare them to mine. One way to see where it is rubbing, thereby seeing what area to concentrate on is to put some paste the pipe and see where it was rubbing on the hood.

Andre,

One other thing to check for. On the top of the air pump is an electrical connector that is attached with a plastic clip. I took my connector off the clip, sliding it to the right, then I took the plastic clip off, or more or less broke it off. If gave me some more room for the pipe to be pushed down.
