Compare the 13B Rew to the LS1...Stick to performance.. I want to hear the thoughts of Rotary owners...Please Objective not subjective..if you don't know what that means..I wouldn't post

LS1 has more torque.
LS1 is a more powerful engine.

13B is cool because it spins.
13B is only 1.3 L.

*LS1 has more low-end torque
*LS1 has more torque and horsepower -- stock
*LS1 has higher torque and horsepower -- potential
*LS1 gets better gas mileage
*LS1 is more reliable than 13B-REW at same horsepower levels

*13B-REW is more compact and allows lower polar moment of inertia in the car
*13B-REW is probably slightly lighter than an LS1, even with associated hardware
*13B-REW is smoother and higher revving.

There's an objective performance viewpoint.

So I see more Pluses with a LS1 than I do with the 13B looks like I will be dropping a LS1 in a Rx7

That wasn't your question. You asked for a straight-up performance difference between the engines. That said, it looks like a few people are running around with LS-1s in their FDs. Search through the forum or go to www.torquecentral.com

13b-REWs have less moving parts, and exhaust pulses that can move a turbo like a madman.

The smoothness of an RX-7's acceleration is the smoothest I have ever felt.

As a driver of v-8's and 13b's...
The difference is you can turn the airflow off with your foot on the 13b, with a 5.7 litre v-8, you are running a big engine all the time, which means you burning more fuel all the time, I like that I can take my foot out of it and enjoy the wonders of a small engine, I don't know any ls1's that will pull 33 mpg...
Also I would state, that when you went for real power, like 400+, you don't have to start replacing all the internals of the motor in order to hang it together...Stock rotors, housings, even seals, will always get the job done... Start building a high output 350 that has to last at 450-500 hp, and its scat crank, eagle rods, F-M pistons, Aftermarket intake manifold, valvetrain, heads etc etc....Even then you are still not guaranteed the power, it takes alot of tuning to get an n/a v-8 to make the power, if you resort to turbo to make that kind power on a v-8, I don't see any advantage over that of a smaller motor..Max

Freeway milage at 60-62 mph with the 6-speed. 6th is an insane overdrive, so the rpm drop is huge, resulting in the excellent fuel economy.
