RE: everyone else who contacted me; I will be getting back to everyone else showing interested in the kit; I will be doing another run since I am pretty much out of everything to put the kit together, so I may start taking down-payments to help with the production costs again. My cost on materials and some misc items has gone up since January 1, 2020; so I won't be able to offer it at the $1600USD+shipping any longer, but it won't be too much more if I can put together a larger bulk order of parts to bring overall cost down again.
Even with a slight price increase, it is still the highest quality and best kit available for the price.

Thanks for the interest, friends. All messages replied to up until this post;
I am indeed proceeding with a next production run; though it will require a bit more patience due to global concerns at this time.
In the meantime, anyone interested in any information regarding setup and installation can still contact me here via PM.
Thanks again for all your interest and patience.

CD009 Adapter to 20B
Hi,
I’m keen to acquire your conversion kit to use the Nissan 350Z CD009 gearbox in my FD, which I am in the process of adding a 20B engine to. Can you let me have a shipping cost to West Midlands UK please and total shipped cost for the kit and packaging plus estimated delivery date?
Can you let me have an order form too?
Many thanks
Keith (Beef2561)

Get the Diff and Gearbox
I agree. I’m going this drivetrain route, appears to be ideal set up and much better ratios For a road car compared to the FD diffs which are now becoming tired, rare and (relatively) expensive. I have bought a 370z gearbox, propshaft, diff and halfshafts from a very low mileage fire salvage car. Research shows they take a fair amount of power in track cars so I should be ok for my road car. Need an adapter for the 20B and will probably adapt Nissan half shafts initially, they aren’t the strongest I’m told so I will go for custom ones in time but the priority now is installing the diff. I’m in the UK so a lot of options I read about on here are expensive to source with import duty and shipping added so it’s progress but slow progress.

^Yeah, that seems to be the case..
The point of a lower than 0.794 6th gear is so that cruising RPM isn't higher than the stock FD's 0.719. I'd like to run lower RPM when cruising at 80 than higher RPM with the Z's 0.794.
If I'm misunderstanding this, someone please correct me.

I came up with 0.754 for the 3.909 to equal the FD3 0.719/4.10 combo
with the 0.794 that’s about 5.3% higher revs; 4,000 rpm vs 4,211 rpm for a basic reference point
the other way to look at is a differential change; 8.8 etc., you’d need a 3.713 rear gear to get there
which the 370Z had a 3.692, with that 3.794 1st gear though maybe the diff swap makes more sense to perhaps have an even lower r&p?

yeah so with a 3.73:
the 3.794 1st gear effectively becomes the equivalent of a 3.452 1st gear compared to the OE 3.483 1st gear with a 4.10 rear gear ... so pretty close
4000 rpm with the 0.719/4.10 OE cruise gearing effectively would be 4019 rpm with the 0.794/3.73 combo ... again pretty close
with a strong modern turbo though (BW EFR type), a 3.55 might be considered
1st gear would drop down to an equivalent 3.259 ratio, making it less likely to light up the tires (well more manageable maybe ) while loading against the turbo more readily
4000 rpm cruise with the OE 0.719/4.10 combo would instead be 3824 rpm with the 0.794/3.55 combo ... all else being equal (tire dia).

So that comparison was for the 4.10 OE manual ratio, but since you were running the 3.909 OE AT ratio
comparing 1st gear with the 3.909 ratio yields an equivalent 3.163 ratio, so slightly steeper than the Nissan 1st gear and 3.55 ratio
4000 rpm cruise with the 0.719/3.909 combo would be 4012 rpm on the 0.794/3.55 combo so pretty close there
which there’s also a 3.45 ratio for the 8.8, so for this comparison:
1st gear on the Nissan 3.45 rear gear results in an effective 3.074 ratio, so slightly steeper than the 3.909 AT ratio was
and 4000 rpm cruise with the 0.719/3.909 OE combo would be 3899 rpm on the 0.794/3.45combo, so slightly steeper there too
so a 3.45 might be considered, there’s also a 3.31 and 3.23 ratio out there somewhere too
so with a wide powerband turbo setup you could maybe argue that 6 speed trans might not really be needed, or go steep on the rear gear to either get the cruise rpms down or have a crazy top end speed, or go big on the turbo or choose a lower cost/less responsive one and use the gears to stay in a narrower powerband assuming the trans will handle it.
or just not even use all the gears. When I owned a Z06 a long time ago my usual street driving mode was 2nd-4th-6th.
lots of flavors to choose from

I ordered the kit from Careless/Raff a while back. It looks really good. I ordered a new transmission yesterday. Planning to do the swap over Christmas break. I'll be sure to provide updates during the process.
Trying to decide which clutch to go with for our 20B powered FD. Need to get that ordered ASAP...
