Jet hot coatings

Ive been looking into getting my turbine housing and manifold coated by jet hot, but Im wondering if it can stand up to the rotarys heat. On thier website it says their coating will work for applications up to 1300 degrees F, but Im not sure if the manifold and turbine housing reach the EGT temps and could damage the coating. Has anyone had this done? How much does it cost and is it worth it?

Im not to familiar with Jet Hot and in no way am trying to preswade you to use another manufacture, however i had my turbine housing and am soon to have my manifold HPC Coated which is very similar. HPC is designed to stand up to the heat.

There is a recent thread about someone with a 3rd gen getting there twin's/manifolds + some other misc stuff coated

I cant seem to find this thread in the 3rd gen section, can you post a link? 20b3rdgen, how much will that cost? Why would you want to coat the wastegate heatsink with an insulating coating?

A few years ago, I had a new exhaust manifold coated. When my mechanic contacted Jet Hot and let them know it was for a rotary, they said it had to be sent to a different location that had a higher temperature coating. It's been long enough that I've forgotten the details, but the bottom line was that the standard coating was good enough for rotaries.

Yeah, go with JetHot's 2000* coating, instead of the 1300*

the headers on my supercharged car are jethot 2000* coated, and I've not had a problem in 1.5 years.

Same here. I used a local Powder/Ceramic coating company (www.AFIpowder.com). I had the exhaust manifold, DP, and MP all coated with their 2000 degree coating. The LIM and UIM were coated with the standard 1300. All of them are holding up great!

Also FYI, this place was a hell of alot cheaper than "JetHot," and I never had to ship any of my parts (because they're local). Powder coating and ceramic coating is becoming more and more popular. So I recommend that you look in your local area to see if there is a coater nearby.
