when you get the header you eliminate the downpipe.

OK, on an NA, the "downpipe" bolts onto the exhaust manifold and replaces the precats. A header replaces the entire exhaust manifold itself and also replaces the precats. You can get a header OR a downpipe. The header will typically give you the very most HP possible, but not sound as good or quiet as a downpipe. If you want your NA to be just as fast as possible I guess you'd want the header. But if you are worried about sound and want a real good increase get the downpipe. Performance-wise theres not too much difference in the 2.

I went from a stock manifold -- high flo cat -- glasspacks, to a rb header -- high flo cat -- glasspacks setup and felt a pretty big difference. I also gained 2 tenths in the 1/4mi. Very very loud though, just to warn you.

I had a, stock manifold, Bonez downpipe with converter, and ApexN1 and the car was pretty quick. With this combination and the silencer installed (which is nothing short of a cork) I pulled a 15.8 but at 88mph. I just had a Mindtrain header, presilencer and converter installed at PR Motorsports. The RB stuff is probably better quality but the Mindtrain was well made and I know racers who have always used it. Anyways, after I finally got everything sorted and all the parts back home I opened it up and WOW! mid range to top end was a lot faster and louder. Right now I got the silencer back in place b/c it is too loud with out it but it still makes way more power than b4. I am yet to run the car but I am looking for low 15's.
