Help with porting please

I Will be porting my rotor housings in the near future and I need some advice.

1. Will a mini die grinder and anelectric dremel be enough?

2. Exactly what bits will I need?(size/type)

3. Any other tips would also be helpfull

I will be using pineapple's templates . I've found this thread to be very helpful so far....link

Thanx in advance

Go to Mazdatrix's website and order their porting video. It'll tell you most of what you need to know. You should really watch it before attempting anything.

If your just doing the aluminum rotor housings (exhaust ports) and your not really experianced, just stick to sanding drums rather then the usual cutting bits and/or stones. It'll be a little slower, but its hard to make a mistake (cut too far) using drums and they wont walk away from you like cutting bits do. If your doing the irons also (intake ports) well drums still work, but are really slow due to iron beeing harder to sand/cut through.

rotarygod gave good advice, watch some porting video's.

Thanx for the advice, I will only be porting the exhaust ports. Can someone tell me what types of cutting bits I'll need, as well as sanding drums?

Also will my mini die & dremel be enough?

Also I have a few junk housings to play with and learn from untill I get comfortable enough to cut a good one.

keep it coming fellas!
