has anyone in here ditched thier OMP

Just wondering it anyone in here has ditched the omp on a 3rd gen...or any gen really it doesnt matter.

I've just yanked all that mess out and blocked it off. I was wondering what spacific brands you guys are running and if they smoke or not. Also how much, I've been reading 1oz per gallon of fuel but that really seems kinda high to me. Maybe not though

I ditched mine on my GXL. I ditched aswell - the OMP Lines, Oil Injectors and all associated Vacuum Lines. I substituted bolts In place of the former Oil Injectors, block off plate for the OMP from www.k2rd.com and plugged up the Vacuum source. I've been premixing eversince and have not since, not even once, thought of going back.

I'm running the Valvoline, low ash, 2-stroke oil. Comes in a white bottle with blue writing. There is a window on the side of the bottle that shows you how much is left.

I usually run about 150:1 for regular driving and 120:1 for 'spirited' driving. I've made a little chart that shows me how much pre-mix to put in for every 10 liters of gas, since I don't always fill up.

The only time it smokes, is when the car is first started on a cold engine.

Ditto as Evilrotor posted...Except I am cheapskate so I am running WALmart Tech2000 super JDM spec IV spl border type II impression super rotary injector oil, which is like 2.33 a litre, half price of the other brands but carries all the same lubrication ratings..
I have tried every brand pretty much in my car though, the only brands I noticed a problem with was the castrol, it seemed to foul the plugs at low speed, and smelled like barf when it burnt..Max

I run Valvoline 2-stroke oil @ 1 oz/gallon. Be careful of that Castrol guys... dunno if anyone else has noticed, but it does not meet TC-WIII standards! (that's for clean burning and not clogging injectors / filters FWIW).

I'll stay away from that, thanks very much

sounds like all you guys are running approx 1oz/gallon, thats also easy to remember.

Sounds like if I were to run my tank down to about the last 1/4 tank it would take about 15 gallons to fill up and half a qt of premix would be just about right and easy to remember.

Thanks guys, I'll try the Valvoline and the Walmart

Anyone else want to throw in some info???

Sama as above. Out of all places where I get my Valvoline 2 stroke oil Is Wallymart. I used to put 16oz per fill up, never half fill ups. But I found my s.s Tail Pipes would be stained with oil. I lowered It to 14oz per fill up and have noticed no adverse effects.

I'll purchase a case and pre measure the bottles prior to putting them In my car. Or atleast a few of them. The rest of the case will stay In my garage.

I have been running the synthetic 2-cycle oil that they sell in dirtbike and 4-wheeler shops. I haven't noticed much smoke. I just figured that the synthetic had to be better though it is $40 per gallon.

No, I have the Haltech which doesn't control it, but it is hooked up so a little oil goes through....better than nothing.
