It's my good friend Mikael who has done all the port jobs on my motors since c:a 1992. He uses regular carbide tools and an air grinder and also some insert templates so he can check that the holes are even. And of course lot's of flow testing with a flowquick which he has since 1997, a good tool!

You can just attach photos to the post... that way you don't have to worry about them disappearing 2-3 years down the road when someone searches for this thread.

Hmmm, interesting. So that's an aluminum insert on the intake port, then? What about the exhaust, or is it the stock hole just ground out? Also, out of curiousity, about where was the power peak?
Sorry, I know I'm being nosy. I'm tempted to ask about exhaust primary length too.
Mrrrrph. I'm going to have to play with the milling machine this weekend and ventilate some more dead housings... oh and take pics of the one with the gigantic square port I made for the hell of it.

The exhaust sleeve is untouched, Housings from gen II onwards have sleeve openings large enough, although like lasse wankel has done, I'm experimenting with alloy exhaust sleeves I've had cast.
I can't tell you peak power as the engine is not run in yet, but from past experiance I would say around 8,000rpm depending on choke size. Bare in mind it is also a daily driver.
Exhaust primary length around 90-95in depending on room under vehicle.
Sorry Lasse, I don't mean to steal your thread.

Interesting, thanks. I'm slooooowly working on a pport motor for street use m'self, so that's especially interesting. Still in the "figuring out how I want to make things" stage but... well, that's part of the fun, no?
