rx7.com said that 830c is what a tuned rotary should run at if the probe is 2 to 4 inches after the turbo. Im not sure if its 2 or 4 but you can call them, they know. The formula for converting from c to f is also on there site. My car runs around 1400f so the autometer is almost crap for what we do since it only go's to 1600.
I worked out theformula and it was 1575f or close , 1600 is were you want to be and with the autometer there is know way of knowing if the car is any hotter. Please if I wrong someone correct me?

Rich will be cooler then lean up to a point. Then it will start reading hot again if you are too rich. The way to tell if you're lean hot or rich hot is when you jab the pedal the temps will slightly dip toward cool then run back up to high temps.

If you jab the pedal & the temp just climbs outrageously then you're lean, but even the crapy stock O2 sensor voltage should tell you what's going on at that point. I know everybody says not to tune off of it but the fact is it will tell you if your .6V or .98V...

Does anyone know the proper readings if the EGT probes are positioned in the header tubes in the exhaust manifold before the turbo?

I've always heard that the EGT's are 150-200F hotter upstream of the turbos as opposed to downstream. I'll tell you for sure in about two months.
