CNC Bridge

Here's an example of some machine work we are getting done, I remember reading a post about 'why do people port by hand?'.

Well, we still port by hand, but we start our bridges off this way, so far we've only used them on NA engines, and as far as that goes, we haven't had any problems.

The template we use is based on an engine that was bought in from Japan, we also have a racing beat template but it isn't programed into the mill, but I'd very much like to get it programed so we can give it a run.

Wow, that's some nice work!

How much would you charge for such services?

that looks very nice. is it a 12A housing? We're actually working on getting a CNC machine cut for the half bridge. It's so hard to do it by hand the *right* way. I probably screw up a few housings because of it.

It costs us $20 NZD per plate to get done, so overall it says you a whole lot of man hours and the cost is pretty reasonable.

What you see is what gets done by CNC, I couldn't tell you which tool they use but I'll find out the next time I drop some plates off. From there, we finish it off by hand.

yep, it's a 12a end plate, it seems to perform better on the 12a plates, better than the series 4 plates.

from the way its machined it looks like they have used a ball nose or bull nose small endmill probably carbide to get in there that tight and not break it off, to machine that they had to use a 3 axis high speed mill, if not a 4 axis because how the complementary angles, but they did a good job looks great, just the one end looks opened up more but all around good finish, good machining

the cut is very smoth but looks like where you 1st drilled it you had some walk at the bottom. other than that looks like a very clean even cut.
