Can you go PP on a 6 port

Can you go PP on a 6 port if replaced the rotor housings and put from turboII or anything better than what they have? If I remember the exhaust in the 6 port factory are not good for porting.

Well, most full out peripheral ports open up the exhaust port wider than the little insert thingie anyway... and if you take out the insert thingie either way, it doesn't really matter whether they're turbo or NA housings.

what difference does it make? The 6 intake ports will be filled with epoxy if you do a PP.

I know that but the question was because of the exhaust side not the area that has to be filled.
Thanks

In their rotary handbook/catalogue Racing Beat does NOT recommend using the 6 port side housings for p-ports because of the large open area left when the sideports are filled (because you cannot build the filler all the way up to the wear surface.)

They claim it will lead to a "combustion imbalance" or something.

That is the only place I have read about it though...

But you already said you'd be replacing the rotor housings, so I don't see how your question is about the exhaust ports.

Or maybe I just misunderstood you?

The quickest all motor 13b in the country is based on 6-port end plates. I've done them and have not noticed any differences.

interesting! on turbo 13bs, I have noticed lately, that the fastest are using almost factory port timing FD, but large porting runners and a large plenum, just seems like a change in what was considered proper 5-10 yrs. ago for turbo motors. is that to try and reduce reversion of exhaust into intake tract. keep temps down on the intake phase could reduce possible detonation.
