Tim,

I just took it out for another drive and did notice a difference in the midrange. I think it was tough to differentiate the increase in power since I just put in the Pettit ECU 3 days ago. I have yet to dyno it, maybe something to consider at our next meeting...

Just installed the HKS and didn't notice a difference... not sure if its just me or if I expected too much

It's hard to feel 8-11 rwhp differences. Dyno will show it.

Brett,

Maybe next thursday, we can head over to the dyno since I want to get a few runs in before I put the larger twins in and turn the boost up. Something to compare it too. It's $50 for 3 runs near the big chicken, although I'll be going to Engineered Performance when I get the turbos on to actual tune the PFC on their wideband sensor.

What would be the best coils to use with the HKS system? Would the stock coils be the best bet or can aftermarket coils be put in for a better ignition overall, if so, what are the best coils?
^ I was wondering the same thing. My situation is that I already have the twin power and have been happy with it so far. With that said I just added a50/50 mix of wai and am concerned I may need a stronger coil. I would really rather not have to spend the extra time and money if their is an easier solution.

I am aware of how old the thread is. It's one that came up while searching. I hoped for some input on my situation. I also thought others searching would benefit more by reading through this thread with additional info instead of creating a thread that can possibly have a one line answer.
So again, I'm not looking for the ultimate or best ignition set up for an fd that I most likely will never need or care to spend the money on. I was looking to see what was the "tested" best alternative coil for someone planning on leaping their twin power. For example I've read that people use different coils but haven't gotten a definitive answer with scientific facts to back them up. I'll name a few. Msd, aem, fc coils or are my fd coils just fine? I'm injecting 50/50 water meth . I'll be pushing 20+ psi

And people are still stuck in same technology

Everyone knows brand names, types etc. but how many people actually know what these boxes consist of? What type of ignition they are? Inductive ignition is much further today, but so is CDI.

Many people are doing upgrades to "superior" coils etc. but they donīt know why and what conditions must be met to reach results.

Why do some research when you can use dinosaur technology and bandwagonned setups

I've been to war and back several times, Completed college, became a pilot, got married had 3 kids, popped 3 motors since this thread was started. Jacobs isn't even around anymore, I think Dr Chris Jacobs sold out, and now you virtually can't find his stuff.
