The Greddy Profec B is nice however I really like the Apex AVC-R. The apex is newer, has self-learning, digital readouts, etc. and costs $30 more than the greddy unit. Personally, I went for the apex.
Now if I could only figure out where I want to mount it.

For controling the waste gate valve or actuator valve,
profec A has a stepping motor,
profec B has a slenoid valve.
Greddy says that type A is expected to show better performance.
But type A is too difficult to handle.
In Japan, most of the noted modifiers prefer the type B.

By the way, if 3rd gen and the latter 2nd gen,
the good modified ECU doesn't require the boost controler.

My FD is installed AMEMIYA ECU.
Good performance and comfortable to drive!!

Super street just tested a few last month including all the ones metioned here and the Blitz duel made significantly more power on the same car. But was the most expensive I believe also

For the stock twins either the Profec B or HKS EVC EZ are the best
For a single tubo any of them will work.

The AVC-R is really nice, but my opinion is it has alot of features that you are not going to use.

I am not sure which is the best, but I like the blitz dual sbc since thats what i have. I got it from a friend with a supra for a good price. has some nice features. you can have 4 presets for diff boost, it has a warning function if you boost to high, and you can set it to lower the boost when the warning is hit. has built in boost gauge similar to the apexi and will controll boost up to something crazy like 37psi
I do not know much about ohter boost controllers, but i am sure they are all pretty good.

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/S...bc_manual.html

there is a good link on some of the functions on the blitz dual sbc.

one nice thing is its pretty slim and small unit and easy to mount.
you might be able to find a used one on the parts trader.

the profec A uses fuzzy logic, which doesn;t seem to work well in the FD.

I have the profec B and love it. Its simple and small, and does the job perfect.

My Home Depot deluxe works just fine, but I've heard a lot of good things about the Blitz SBC-ID so thats what I just ordered, along with the power meter. I'll give a full impression when i get it and install it.
