^ LOL you better do some serious research young grass hoppa. You gottan pay to play when it comes to the rotary 4 banger. By the way, it's ok to ask all your questions on ONE post.

No nothing yet, but i think we have an idea on how to make it. The intake runners will be angled towards the front in something like 35-45 degrece angle so the throttlebodies and intake chamber will get more forward and away from the firewall as im going to move the engine about 4-6 inches back, to get the Tremec TKO600 transmission to come up in the right place. And also get a better weight distribution.

Got the transmission on monday And im getting a adapter made between the stock FD clucth housing and the TKO transmission.

Now JT. lets get a date setup for the UK trip.
You need this baby on the road.

Cant wait to be there, hearing the sound of 4 rotor @ 9000rpm on the dyno.
I think there will be many here wanting to be in our shoes that day.

Anyway, things are looking good, lets hope the $ drops so we aint all broke before the trip.

hehe do you want me to show you the picture on my desktop both at home and work :P

But im not gonna run with open filters in the engine bay. It will suck in warm air and that is no good. We will be making a intake chamber to take the cold air from the front. So there is going to be a big aluminum box covering the engine.

Trauma yeah i know, let's talk tomorrow or thursday, i just need to get some things cleryfied from pip about a few things. The engine will most likely be ready to drop in before easter, and in planing on going over there after easter.

It's been a slow progress these last few weeks. The Rotor housings er back from PP machining, and i should get some pictures any day now. And the engine will soon be ready for asembly. We are looking into some water cooling modifications to the engine, as we are afraid of overheating on rotor housing 3 and 4. Since the car will be raced in a series where the race lasts for 30 minutes.

But om doing some work on the car as well. Been making a new diff mount wich is not completly finished, but u get the idea of strengthning the chassi and the diff it self. There will be one more bracket to the lower mount on the diff as well.

Ive also had the adapter plate between the new transmission and the clutch housing made. Im going to mark up all the holes that are going to be drilled and put in steel hellicoils in it for better support and hold of the bolts. We also made a ring to center the clutch housing on the release bearing tube as that is thinner then the hole in the clutch housing.

And i have also started to lower the stearing rack so that it will clear the engine block. But i won't post pictures of that untill im finished with it.

Looks awesome. Why do you think you will have trouble cooling the #3 and 4 rotor specifically?

thanks,

I may be completely wrong about this, but isn't there a block off plate on the intermediate plate for coolant? couldn't you theoretically feed a second set of coolant lines to those?

But the engine will see most of it life time between 5000-9000 rpm. And will be raced at 30 minutes at the time. So it's going to get warm there even tho this is a non turbo engine.

This might be a shot in the dark, but it probably wouldn't hurt to ask someone who has one of those motors. I heard Jim Downing in Atlanta has a few of those motors, maybe he would know.

They did feed the water into the middle plate on the ignition side. And then it went arround on both sides and was taken out on the exhaust side on the middle plate.

And it's not dooable with a stock 13b-rew mid plate.

Some more work has been done. Im almost done with the engine mount and transmission mount. And im also almost done with lowering the stearing rack. Not the best and prettyiest solutions but it will work. Need to find a solution to fasten it.

And i also had to mount the dry sump tank in the engine bay as it was to big to fit in the rear between the fuel cell and the frame. I might go for a custom built dry sump tank later. Going to start working on the water cooling system and the inlett for the air filter box. I have a realy good idea for it
