85mph in 6.4 sec

Question is if I can get my car up to 85mph in 6.4 sec how fast would you estimate it would be in the quarter mile? I did a data log yesterday and was able to do this with spinning in 1st and more of the same in 2nd (damn street tires !).

Any guesses?

If his avatar represents his car, looks like a 13B-RE swap w/ a dirty single

I'd say 12's w/ your current tires.

See if you can borrow a G-Tech from a friend. They aren't the most accurate way to time it, but pretty dam close.

I like your setup setzup. We should meet up some time to show each other our setups! I have a stock 12a with a blowthrough on it, pretty fast for a 12a. Yesterday it was a turbo bridgeport, yeah, I'm fast.

Are you sure that turbo is big enough? From here its too big, but like they say, too big is just enough.

Actually it could be a bit bigger

I'm going to the car craft show at the state fairgrounds tomorrow and probably heading down to university later on at night with my car. If you don't have anything going on tomorrow night you should swing down to university tomorrow so we can do a little tire kickin

I don't know, but if you slap one of these in there and get to 88mph, hang on

I wish I could go to car craft, I was actually right near the fair grounds in Roseville yesterday at
Rx-hevean(hell) because I knew they'd have a water pump gasket on hand(no dealer stocks them!) I needed for my TII water pump I fitted for the 12a turbo. I did see some cool old chev's and other well kept classics in Roseville that appeared to be in the area for the event this weekend.

Also have to work both days this weekend which sucks. And the rear crush washers for the bango bolt are pretty dinged up on my rear endplate for the main oil line, so it still leaks semi~bad. After work I'll see about smoothing them off with sandpaper to get them to not leak till I get new ones, but I will probably not be going anywhere too far since I just got it running and want to confirm it roadable.

However, I'll give ya a PM when I'm headed into the metro area sometime soon so I can see what all you've done,

Wacky

I went also, drove my FB up there. Drove it around on university after the car craft show ended. I talked to LUV94RX7 for a while at porkys. He took some pic's of my friends V-8 FC and my FB. Wanted to see 1revvinrx7's car but didn't see it around.

I ended up racing my buds FC later on, we were neck and neck. The first race I beat him because I got a millisecond head start but he beat me the next race because I bogged the hell out of 1st I was pretty happy with my car after those races because he had his engine dynoed before it went into the FC, came up at 486hp.
You're going to have a ton of fun when you get your car done 82streetracer I'm having a blast!

Cam, get yourself a heat shield around that turbine housing pronto. It's heat-soaking the intake manifold.

Steve- ****-in-a ! Thats fast. I would have loved to feel the pull on that car! What rear tires do you reccomend me to get for the street? These 205's are not cutting it!

Brian- That is a old pic, since then I've put a stainless heat shield between the turbo and the intake. I also moved the air filter from behind the radiator to behind the pass side headlight.

I'm pretty sure when Steve did that he was at the drags with slicks and some (all LOL) of the interior missing from the car, not sure of the all up weight with driver but either way it was farking impressive watching it take off

Just goes to show you what a fast well prepared first gen can do

205's on the street are gay, nice for 3rd gear power slides in a straight line though

If you can increase your speed by 12-14 mph in 1.1-1.4 secounds, then you may be in the 11.7# range. Currently doing 95-99mph in the 1/8 and getting mid 11 secound passes. 60 foot's are bad, 1.9-2.0.
What boost were you pushing? I thnk I need a bigger air pump like the motor you have.
When are you going to take that bad boy to the track?
Weigh the car when you do go.
chuck
ps. A freind is posting a 11.4 126mph run of my car on his web page soon. If you want to check it out let me know. I will ask him for forward the address to you.

Yeah, 205's are pretty damn gay but it is fun being able to spin them in 3rd

running ~10 psi up to ~6k then it climbs to 15. Not sure when I'll hit the track but I raced my buds 2850# V-8 FC and we are DEAD even. He had his engine on a dyno ~ a month ago and it put out 486bhp. chevy 383, aluminum heads yada yada yada... He has yet to run his car at the track also.
That would be cool to see your timeslip, would give me something to shoot for

I hope to have my ASP large SMIC installed tomorrow and hope to be at Porky's. You guys come on up and I'll let you use my Vericom computer for some 1/4 mile timings. My nephew's NOS V8 Chev FC might be there. He might be in Brainerd for the bike drags. His best so far with the Busa is 8.80 and 161 mph.

Left lane car is a 3rd gen with street port, rx6 turbo, pfc tuned by rx7.com, MT drags. 15 psi of boost. 360rwhp.
Right lane is a 1st gen with turboII motor, street port with small bridge on secoundary, T66 turbo, stock running gear with BFG drags. 22 psi of boost. estimated 425-450rwhp. Notice the et's are close but the MPH and the 60 foot times are really differant.
