The absolute fastest? I think a low 13. On average they do 14 flat at 100 mph. The thread starter is making 373 rwhp, he should be trapping around 117ish mph, definitely a high 11 second car.

Then either the TA driver cant drive or he really doesnt have 470rwhp.

Its really simple, an LS1 making close to 500rwhp will be a 10 second car with a good driver.

And since they raced off a roll, i hardly believe there was any error.

So i understand what spoolin spec v was saying.

There is no way a 375rwhp FD will "WALK" a 470rwhp LS1. Dead even? possibly but walk is meaning no chance. And thats very unlikely with the numbers given in this thread.

since there are about 3 or 4 stock twin cars on this forum that actually run right i guess i understand why u would doubt it.

Rich. I think he meant a modded stock twin Fd. I think it is a high 10? Correct? Yes I trapped 117 w/ 17 inch rims. The car weighs 2680. No ac, power steering, etc.

10's...

I think 470 may be a bit overstated, but it is not out of the ordinary to make that power with these stock turbos. And G's car could certainly hold right with, or pull slightly on one with true 470rwhp. I have nearly an identical car to G's, and I have beaten cars like that. I pulled pretty hard on an STS turbocharged LS1 SS camaro (more like 436rwhp) on the highway on 15psi. You have to also remember that the stock turbos have a longer power band than a large single. Mine sees full boost in non-sequential form before 3500-3600rpms with an exhaust leak in the manifold (between the motor and turbos)! I see 15psi to redline so the power may not be as strong as a single up top, but still there none the less.

G, you ever come to Orlando? I could set you up with some races if you want, maybe an N/A LS1 camaro.

why do these 3 from central florida always troll up our kills sections? they always call Bs on everything and they are completely 100% ignorant about our cars. This spec v guy thinks all 470rwhp camaros run 10s, and didnt even know that stock turbo modded FDs can run 10s.

They also never believe in power to weight... which is funny to me as i came from a 3800lbs dodge steath TT awd with 403awhp, to a 3100lb evo with 360awhp, and now i have a 370rwhp stock turbo FD. the stealth that had the most power and torque was by far the slowest car ive owned. the evo was near my fd in power, but guess what... my fd would rape my evo. I also had an audi S4 but it only had 275awhp so it doesnt count... but it was a pig. one of the biggest differentiators in acceleration of automobiles is power-to-weight and gearing.. Period.

after all, if they didnt mean **** than why does a 7500lb diesel truck with 450rwhp and 550ft/lbs only run 15s or maybe 14s at best? that would run 10s easy in a car. sure some have run 11s and 10s, but thats with 700+ whp and 1100+ wTQ.

I didn't race him because I couldn't get in contact with him the day of. Plus, I was in Tampa, he was in Orlando, and we would have had to meet up some where, it just wasn't feasible. I'd still love to race an FD in my range, whatever you guys see that as. I have 300whp and I can go from rolls if you want.

I don't try to call bs but have you ever seen a 470whp fbody run? A 470whp fbody is a BAD bitch, no matter how you cut the cake. Taking his times into account, trapping 117, there just isn't any way in my mind that he could beat a t/a like that, much less walk it.

As for the power to weight argument, I know you guys like to use that as your trump card, but there are thousands of other forces at work.

So, if you would like to come to Orlando, I can set you up with an Fbody with a LOT less than 470whp and see how you fare.

That would be an utter waste of my time, but obvoiusly its more than a normal NA. I do have plenty of friends w/ turboed 7's in O-town you can stake that NA against. PM Kabooski on here. He will run you. Let us know the outcome. G

300whp now? so youve modded since the full exhaust? run a 300rwhp RX7. then you will see the power to wieght.

also, with the 470rwhp ls1. i have no doubt that is a bad mamerjammer. i actuall have a race set up with an LS1 SS that claims 485whp once my M3 turbo project is fully functional. its supposed to be from a roll. Hes ganna get rolled pretty hard.

Why would it be a waste of your time? He runs about what you do, it's the orange z28 in the video of me racing him.
