supercar fd runs with the big boys

Here is some race video you'll enjoy.

996 with 950AWHP
"The 996 is AWD and it is very fast, he has over 100,000 just in the motor"

TTviper with over 850RWHP

LS2RX7 with 75 shot

http://webpages.charter.net/sengdahl/race.wmv

somewhat hard to tell which race is inside the rx7, so hint...you can see the viper interior and in the 7 the camera guy has to look out the window. the rx7 has full interior and is smog leagal with a passenger and the porche has half interior no passenger

I kind of find it hard to believe that something with 950AWHP would lose that bad. Either the numbers are made up or there were some serious issues with the car/driver. If it's really true then please share the numbers the RX7 is putting down.

that is a good race but that ls2 is not stock. from the factory they make 400hp at the flywheel. that car problably has all bolt ons that are available. The porsche is heavier but still is a little hard to believe unless with that shot that car is running close to 800hp on that rx7. That is problably heads, cam and all the other goodies.

Thats Gary Javos old Viper, Anyone remember the Hayabusa killer TT Viper? The Porsche made 901 whp, the Viper was toned down a bit from its previous 1000 whp claims, and the RX-7 made a little over 600 whp I think on the 75 shot.

Agreed. I'm sure the 911 has some serious power & is mighty fast but 950+ rwhp? No way.

BTW, an LS1 Vette motor puts out 350 Hp (290 ish rwhp). No way in hell is that FD anywhere NEAR 600 rwhp in N/A format. With bolt ons, it would be lucky to see 350ish rwhp (so it ain't trapping 136 mph in N/A format).

That race was by my house on Hyw 85 S. I have many a kill on that road (a 360 Modena, & a 911 GT2, which was very close with my FD, come to mind). Maybe I'll run into that 8,000 Hp LS1 FD sometime.

Gotta go eat lunch. I'll take my 1,200 rwhp SLK out

Just so you know...that 7 has an LS2 in it. On top of that....there is nitrous involved. And there is no exact number science to nitrous in the sense that, even though he is running a 75 shot it doesnt mean that its giving him exactly 75 hp (probably alil more). Not to mention the torque is going to be really healthy too. Post some pics of that slk!!!

No way that porsche has 950hp. The fastest porsche in the us right now is owned by a guy named Buddy G. He lives in grand rapids michigan. He put down somewere around 700whp. I don't remember the exact number. I have seen the car in person. I looks completly stock!!!!!!!

it's probably not 950whp at all times that's probably with a tank of c16 on more boost.

Yeah that's what i'm thinking, I know of a guy with a 996 over 900hp, but I think it was like 700ish on pump gas/no nitrous.

It's not 900+ whp? That Viper is in the 1000 whp range, but wasn't that night. The RX-7 makes 507 without the nitrous. The Viper couldn't get traction to save his life.

Someone said that was a Promotive engineering Porsche and the RX-7 guy said they were quoted at 900 awhp on the Porsche. but he said he was spinning all 4 tires.

This is all from reading other posts. Yeah, and I agree with these guys. ^^^^^ Even though the Porsche and Viper were on race gas from what the RX's owner said.

The dyno looks to be uncorrected and it's also an LS2 but none the less he is making good power... he's also running a 100 shot...but I still call BS on 950 rwhp on the Porsche see why below...

"Evolution MotorSports has officially recorded the quickest 1/4 mile time for a 996TT at 10.37 @ 139.68 MPH. The original 996TT 1/4 mile record was set by our friend and Northern California dealer Alex "Sharky" Ross of Sharkwerks. He still holds the record of the quickest known 996TT Tiptronic at 10.6 @ 135 MPH. Both cars are fitted with Evolution MotorSports GT800 Tuning System with unrivaled software written by our good friend and performance partner Garrett Lim of GIAC. Our EVO GT800 is currently producing about 760 RWHP with straight pipes / race fuel and will be running in the 9 second range very shortly. This car has only been to the drag strip twice in 2 years."

Just to let you know this 996TT is located in Norcal and its no b.s. If you look at the video carefully the 996TT pulled on the fd at the end.

He was running a 75 shot during the race, and that porsche is no joke. The owners name is Alex and the owner of the Viper is Darius.
