SLK55 Hammers 2.0L Turbo Saab

My wife & I were on a way to work this AM in our SLK55 when this annoying guy in his 2.0L "Scania" Turbo was tailgating us on an expressway entry ramp. I guess he saw the neon green new car tag & wanted to see how quick our car was? I'm still breaking in the new car (500 miles) but figured a 2nd gear romp would stretch the motor a bit

So, the "HMS Scania" shoots around me onto the Expressway to try & blow by the newly constructed Bismark from AMG. I gently push the peddle to the floor & the little Scania's turbo whine & momentum is overcome by our V8. The HMS Scania is blown about 2 cars back from the quick 20 mph - 60 mph roll. That guy got CRUSHED so quickly it wasn't funny.

This little SLK is pretty bad azz. I'm looking forward to pushing it after my first 1k miles are done.

See ya,
-Matt

Have any pics?
The SLK's are shorter (length wise) and less powerful versions of the SL's right?

He deserve it!

All newer AMG cars are getting really fast bone stock. 360hp V8, 0~60 in 4.5~4.7sec. Love the new rear and front end. Looks very aggressive in person.

I really like the new SLK. Look cool as hell especially the AMG version. I have some q's for you Matt.

How does the car handle? How does it feel driving it? Can you give us the comparison between your AMG and your 7?

My friend test-drove the slk, but didn't like the guges. He said the guages positions are unusual and not too comfy to look. Is that true?

But, dang, AMG machines are so unearthly fast now.

I have not really pushed the car hard yet during its break in period, but it seems to handle very well (very solid, tractable, & absorbs road irregularities...unlike my R1 which allows you to "feel" every pavement crack). My R1 & SLK are just different cars in my opinion (the R1 is a "race car" & the SLK is basicly a solid/more luxurius sports car)? Hope this makes sense?

I personally like the gauges - very readable & right in front of you. I hate to say this, but I like driving the SLK as much as my R1....its that fun (in me & my wife's eyes at least). I'm just debating now to put the Kleemann blower on it which would boost power to about 530 - 600 Hp (depending on some other mods w/the blower....Maybe later, we just got the car & it seems "sprite" enough for now).

See you,
-Matt
