is your engine strong? are you a good driver? your car could be faster as long as you are a good driver and it is a strong engine. the thing is, his care is still brand new and since its an AT it is predictable.is it a 5 speed auto?

the mustangs outweighs you by about 5-600 pounds... its an AT (shaves about 1 second off 0-60).

stock, an NA s4 runs 0-60 in about 8 seconds. 20 years later with proper upkeep and a few bolt ons it probably runs about the same as new with the added bolt ons.

i have a 2003 V6 AT and its not terribly impressive sooo id say you could probably take him or at least be dead even.

You won't "Spank" a damn thing if it's a V8... Whoever ryderx was racing is missing a chromosome or something...You're best bet is to get the jump from a dig & keep the RPM's in the optimal power range. I have a '87 n/a FC w/ 98,000 original miles ,intake and header back exhaust...and not only am i not "spanking" GT's, I'm not even winning. Have fun Wait..you're racing a V6 huh ?....you'll be good to go w/ that, you'll get him. I was in my NX2000 the other night and some clown in a Mustang GT w/ exhaust started revving next to me, i asked "Hey, wanna see what you can do against a 4 cylinder ?" He laughed at me ...hard. So I intentionaly went past my turn, let him come up on me, then gave him a full 2nd and 3rd gear pull that he wasn't ready for, haha. When he caught up, i was pointing and laughing at him so he yells all flustered "It's just a V6 w/ exhaust ! " "Haha, I noticed" i said. Sorry for thread jacking... You'll get the V6 Stang bro..

The 05+ V6 Stangs run mid-low 15s with a manual, not sure how much slower the autos are. You are definitely going to have your hands full.

+1 on that GT logic, I have a mildly modded s4 sport mod lighted up with rb header silencer to single 2.5, sr alm fly, comp mounts, efan, cone filter with heatshield, vert wheels, and I can stay with 92 and later if I am behind them for the draft, but if we are side by side I lose, and the faster we go the faster they pull away. On the flip side, about a year or so ago I had a guy in a 06 V6 stang reving on me on a freeway on ramp light. I killed his *** on the light and he never got close to catching up, once I hit 3rd it was getting ugly!
