Well Hello Again RX7 Club!

Ok, let me just say that I've got no idea how much power my car has. I haven't been to the dyno yet and I'm running a mail-order tune on 18psi. Your guess is as good as mine.

The only thing to gauge my cars current power by right now are the facts that:

- adictd2b00st put down 425-ish WHP @ 15psi
- I pulled him good when he was @ 15psi
- adictd2b00st turned up the boost to 19psi, so he's obviously making more power now
- He kills me now, but I still keep up despite the fact my car weighs a good 600-ish lbs more

Who cares anyway, these are just fun runs between friends

thanks for chiming in Onyx; I certainly wasnt' trying to internet race (hell, I don't even street race). It just seemed like adictd2boost was taking a guess at your hp levels; I was just trying to provide a more accurate estimate given what the vast majority of sport 530 Z's put down. Thought I was helping out; I'll continue to just lurk around instead.

 

It's cool man. The other thing we're not figuring is the difference in our power curves. Mine is going to be much more linear than his because I have small turbos with minimal lag, where as he has a large turbo with more lag. So who knows. I won't get on a dyno until the spring I think...

 

yea thanks for posting josh, easier for you to explain your own car than me trying to lol either way tho both cars move pretty well, its hard to get a sense of speed just watchin a video like that !

why woudl racing from a dig"REALLY" show us ? racing from a dig proves one thing when cars a relatively close....who could hook up better. the real test is racing from second gear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

 

Going from a dig shows which car is better set up overall, not just has the most hp. It doesn't matter if you've got 500whp if you can't actually get it to hook up. If you're a shitty driver then perhaps you should have done the driver mod before you slapped on more power. Or maybe you should have gotten something better than your all-season tires before you decided to try and race. Running from a roll is only worth ***** n' giggles IMO. The only exception would be with cars that might bust something with a launch(S2k), and then you should probably question drag racing with a car that wasn't built for it.
