Rematch vs 300zx TT *vid*

got another vid for you guys...... this was a rematch with my buddies modded z32 tt last nite......... about a month ago when i was rolling around on 15psi he put a good 2 cars on me, so since then i upped the boost to 20 with the aid of the methanol injection. i was quite happy with the results :)

Right Click Save As

on 15psi i made 424whp, but i don't have any numbers on the current setup

he's running 18psi on aftermarket everything including a built motor....he doesn't have any dyno numbers either but if i had to guess i'd say well over 500

but anywho, enjoy!

ps- yea i know, i should start brake boosting......

1QWIK7 09-05-06 06:33 PM

damn nice kill

What exhaust are you running? It sounds higher pitched than the normal single fd's i heard.

And you need 99 tails man, it will update the look a bit. :)

coolvette 09-05-06 06:48 PM

nice,7s rule!

adictd2b00st 09-05-06 07:06 PM

thanks!

i'm running the RB dual, with a 3" dp and a 3" midpipe. i think your hearing alot of my open wastegate in there too tho ;)

and yea i do need those tails, i think that'll be one of my winter mods :)

adictd2b00st 09-05-06 09:14 PM

i just realised i left out a very important detail lol those runs were 40-140 mph

DMoneyRX-7 09-05-06 09:45 PM

ok i suck at brake boosting. someone help me get better at it

eriksseven 09-06-06 01:28 AM

Gently put your foot on the gas while at the same time applying pressure to the accelerator, continue to apply force to both the gas and accelerator pedal until you have achieved your desired PSI. The goal is to be able to do this technique without either slowing down, or pulling ahead too much... C'mon bro, give it a couple practice attempts and you're good to go. ;)

eriksseven 09-06-06 01:29 AM

BTW, nice kill.

ihavetwins 09-06-06 11:07 AM

yea nice kill but get tho's 99tails man they clean up the car a bunch

'94Z32TT 09-06-06 11:09 AM

any idea what turbos he's running on the Z?

adictd2b00st 09-06-06 12:51 PM

he is running sport 530's (gt25rs) on a built bottom end and all the supporting mods. his car is kind of a mystery with the motor work because his car has consistently put out more hp/tq then other z's running the same mods.... and we've tested the theory on more than one dyno lol

Henessey 09-06-06 01:07 PM

Its NOS foo! :fawk:
That is wierd, like ive heard of a few cars gaining more bhp over time from driving.
Strange. I want to say NSX but it may have been another

no not gaining over time, just making more power than other cars do lol so whatever he's got in that motor is working well

'94Z32TT 09-06-06 02:18 PM

nice turbo's. They usually dyno in the mid to high 400's at 18psi. He'd probably have to be around 23 psi or so to get above 500rwhp.

you mean brake and accelerator. ;)

his motor is in no way stock......

DMoneyRX-7 09-06-06 07:08 PM

ok. I was pressing the brake's to hard and not enough accelerator

RE-Amemiya 09-06-06 08:11 PM

Nice vid, good kill!

RX7 RAGE 09-06-06 09:10 PM

nice

mr2foryou 09-06-06 11:57 PM

Very nice. It's good to see another GT40R RX-7 out there representing. Hopefully, I'll be out there this weekend. Keep filming.

pretty good run, my friend used to have a 475whp z32tt with upgraded GT500 turbos but i'm not sure how it compares to gt25rs anyway those cars can be pretty fast too
nice run

I realize that, but it doesn't change anything; most JWT Sport 530 equipped cars run mid to high 400's and that's with built blocks, dp's, test pipes, IC's etc. and aftermarket exhaust manifolds or ported stock manifolds. You really can't run 530's with a stock motor anyway; you would need to upgrade the injectors, dp's (5 bolt pattern vs stock 4 bolt pattern) , ic's etc.

I figured out who your friend is (Onyx Z32 on tt.net) and checked out his profile. He has the normal supporting mods; split dp's, test pipes, 555cc injectors, dual intake, ECU, exhaust, IC's, Wiseco pistons, flywheel and port/polish work done. All of that is pretty standard equipment for a car running 530's, so I'd imagine he'd fall in the same range as most other cars running those turbos. I saw no mention of an exhaust manifold, or ported stock manifold, so I'd imagine he'd see slower spool up or less power than some of the guys with his mods + a manifold.

Anyway, I was only trying to give an accurate guess on his hp since you said you didn't know. I'd say "well over 500 hp" at 18 psi would be a bit on the high side. Just my opinion though.

adictd2b00st 09-07-06 11:20 AM

well on stock turbo's with JUST a jw intake he made 297 whp and 320trq on stock boost levels. so you do the math

'94Z32TT 09-07-06 11:46 AM

^ I've seen great #'s like that on mostly stock Z's several times; usually was a case of them returning back closer in line with others the more mods they added on later. Now that he's done engine work and changed so much else, chances are he's more in line with other Z's with the same mods. When he gets it dyno'd, I'd be willing to bet $$ he won't put down "well over 500" hp at 18 psi on pump gas with those turbos.

Anyway, I'm not here for a pissing match, I just think that well over 500 at 18 psi is extremely optimistic. If he is putting that down at 18 psi on 530's, myself and countless other Z owners would love to know how so we could replicate. People on tt.net were amazed when a guy put down 480 rwhp at 17 psi and that was with Inconel manifolds

Drifter757 09-07-06 11:53 AM

Nice kill! You car sounds great.
