Rematch vs 300zx TT *vid*
got another vid for you guys...... this was a rematch with my buddies modded z32 tt last nite......... about a month ago when i was rolling around on 15psi he put a good 2 cars on me, so since then i upped the boost to 20 with the aid of the methanol injection. i was quite happy with the results
Right Click Save As
on 15psi i made 424whp, but i don't have any numbers on the current setup
he's running 18psi on aftermarket everything including a built motor....he doesn't have any dyno numbers either but if i had to guess i'd say well over 500
but anywho, enjoy!
ps- yea i know, i should start brake boosting......

Gently put your foot on the gas while at the same time applying pressure to the accelerator, continue to apply force to both the gas and accelerator pedal until you have achieved your desired PSI. The goal is to be able to do this technique without either slowing down, or pulling ahead too much... C'mon bro, give it a couple practice attempts and you're good to go.

he is running sport 530's (gt25rs) on a built bottom end and all the supporting mods. his car is kind of a mystery with the motor work because his car has consistently put out more hp/tq then other z's running the same mods.... and we've tested the theory on more than one dyno lol

pretty good run, my friend used to have a 475whp z32tt with upgraded GT500 turbos but i'm not sure how it compares to gt25rs anyway those cars can be pretty fast too
nice run

I realize that, but it doesn't change anything; most JWT Sport 530 equipped cars run mid to high 400's and that's with built blocks, dp's, test pipes, IC's etc. and aftermarket exhaust manifolds or ported stock manifolds. You really can't run 530's with a stock motor anyway; you would need to upgrade the injectors, dp's (5 bolt pattern vs stock 4 bolt pattern) , ic's etc.
I figured out who your friend is (Onyx Z32 on tt.net) and checked out his profile. He has the normal supporting mods; split dp's, test pipes, 555cc injectors, dual intake, ECU, exhaust, IC's, Wiseco pistons, flywheel and port/polish work done. All of that is pretty standard equipment for a car running 530's, so I'd imagine he'd fall in the same range as most other cars running those turbos. I saw no mention of an exhaust manifold, or ported stock manifold, so I'd imagine he'd see slower spool up or less power than some of the guys with his mods + a manifold.
Anyway, I was only trying to give an accurate guess on his hp since you said you didn't know. I'd say "well over 500 hp" at 18 psi would be a bit on the high side. Just my opinion though.

^ I've seen great #'s like that on mostly stock Z's several times; usually was a case of them returning back closer in line with others the more mods they added on later. Now that he's done engine work and changed so much else, chances are he's more in line with other Z's with the same mods. When he gets it dyno'd, I'd be willing to bet $$ he won't put down "well over 500" hp at 18 psi on pump gas with those turbos.
Anyway, I'm not here for a pissing match, I just think that well over 500 at 18 psi is extremely optimistic. If he is putting that down at 18 psi on 530's, myself and countless other Z owners would love to know how so we could replicate. People on tt.net were amazed when a guy put down 480 rwhp at 17 psi and that was with Inconel manifolds
