Well, I don't know if it was the quickest car I've raced, but it was the best "looking" win I've ever had. I pulled up next to a silver Diablo on the highway (turned out to be a high quality kit car, but I doubt most others knew this by the way people were gawking). The guy was on his cell and had this cocky look on his face when I got next to him. Due to traffic, I had to get behind him until we came up on a WIDE opening. He noticed I was following, hung up the phone and downshifted (I was already in 3rd gear at about 55 Mph). We both swithced lanes, and floored it. By the time I shifted out of 3rd at about 7600 RPM I was coming around his passenger side. By the time we shut down, 110 mph or so, I was about 1 and a half cars ahead. He had to pull next to me to exit the highway, and he WOULD NOT look over at me I was Driving the 1st gen BTW

In my MR2, I went up against a rich older gentlemen in a modified 03 911 Turbo. It was on my way back from church mass and I see him next to me at a light, the damn thing looked so beautiful, full roll cage, very wide HRE rims. I could hear the turbo spool as we started to move, followed him on the high way, right when we merged on to it, he went full throttle and so did I. I started in 2nd gear and by the end of 4th he was 2 school busses a head of me. I loved it.

The MR2 was mid 12s, so God knows what he was doing in the 1/4!?!?!?!

In my s4 n/a I ran an '05 Mustang GT vert on the highway. Did a 70-95 pull, maxing out third gear, and got about half a car-length on him. My mods at the time included street port, header, high flow cat, dual N1's, SAFC, etc. Dynoed 160rwhp on a Dynapack.

I owned a Toyota Civic, LOL it had a huge STI wing, a body kit, and an APC exhaust tip.

...........I tried to race a Mitsubishi civic a few weeks ago but it drove in a different direction.

Other than that I got a Jetta, a M3(Who couldn't drive and stalled 3 times), and an old 300zx Turbo

2001 Honda Oddesy LX vs. Tracker LT in merge. darn soccer mom thinks that tank is fast, lol. (I know for a van it is though)

1993 Altima vs. 2001 Altima 2.5s (fastest car now it raced): the QR25 wasn't built up as well as the KA24, or the Altima 2.5 had some tranny problems, because we were creeping from him, lol

a 2002 transam with a cam and some other mods that trapped 116 in the 1/4. run was from 40-140 and I won but ~2 cars.

another transam with axhaust/intake and a 125 shot of nitrous. run was from 40-130 or so and I won by 3-4 cars.

lost by ~2 cars to a head/cam z06 that trapped 125 in the 1/4. it was a good race and he didnt pull as hard as I expected.

all of the above drivers CAN drive very well.

lots of other not so close races.

Z06 vette - pulled him by a good margin
Porsche 911 GT2 - 3 pulls on the highway, all close, but I won all of them
Buddy's Supra TT with all the bolt ons plus about 20 (or more?) PSI of boost - very close, but only if he brake boosted (he has auto trans).
C5 vette, modded to 400 rwhp and 400 rwtq - pulled a few cars on him from a 40-100 race

Quickest car I faced was through some corners- and that would be a late miata with some suspenion stiffening work, lowered and with cage. He must've had minor power mods, but it was the closest thing through turns. Excellent car.

As for straight line, at most, I do brief sprints where I just prove that I can keep pace with whatever car I'm next to ~333hp M3, nothing major.

Hmmm...
Best ones so far are.
- Supra with 550 rwhp (Just barely inching on him. was very close)
- 94 Cobra with 497 rwhp. (won by 3 cars from 20 - 165)
- Few ZO6s and modded C5s.
- 911 Carerra S. Won by a lot. (most recent fun one)

My ratty bone-stock RX7 GSL-SE that had had all the GSL-SE wheels, tires, etc. replaced with the small, normal RX7 small-bolt-pattern stuff. (The car cost me $699 at a used lot.)

With wheelspin on the start, I got the jump but eventually lost as the guy was a bit ahead of me when I backed off to make my turn. His was a four-door accord with a huge intercooler up front, the usual rice sounding BOV etc. etc.

I thought it was funny keeping up with a car whose intercooler cost more than my ride.

Long live the first gens!

That's cool beating a Porsche and all, but I doubt the driver is very upset about it. At the end of the day, he is still driving a Porsche.
