My 94 FD vs Supra-MKIV highway pulls *w/ VIDEO*

Trying to convince him selling the RX7 for a Supra was a bad idea :-)
BPU Supra w/front mount intercooler and at least 20psi vs my 17psi single on pump gas.
Supra dynoed 440rwh about a month ago.

Both just having some fun.......ENJOY !

Figures you would win, give him a single and more than likely the result would be different.

Beating him was no surprise to both of us, but pull away like I did was a shock to him. He figured it would be close and maintain same gap to the end.......NOT !

A different result would only be likely if he was on race gas and even then he would need to make enough to overcome a 500rwh/2950lb RX7.

Cool videos and result

So many of these night videos people try and do and you cant see anything, in these you can actually see what is going on.

supra needs close to 600whp to keep up with that fd. i just picked up a supra myself. they are both sick cars in different ways but the rx-7 just has a race car feel that the supra doesnt. but the supra is nice to cruise all around in since its more of a luxury sports car.

boostn, what turbo are you running again?

Completely agree....Supra feels like a Lexus off boost and a monster when in boost.
Supra needs at least 600rwh to stay neck to neck and I'm not sure how many will do it on pump gas.

I'm running a Turbonetics T70 w/ 1.00 AR.

There are alot of single guys in cali that have close to 600rwhp on pump gas.

And their pump gas is 91 octane.

Idk if you're on supra forums but dyno sheets are there, those cars are capable of it.

i always hear from people that supras trash everything on the street including
the RX-7 FD. with a single turbo supra im sure results would be different, but i think it would still come down to the drivers.

Having 2 300ZX TT's myself and also driven a couple of Supras before, I would say that the Z32 and Supra feel pretty similar between each other (the Z feels more nimble and confident than the Supra, tho)...On the other side, the FD is a completely different car...When I drive my FD, I feel like I'm driving a race car and also can feel the difference in weight even at low speed cornering...The Z and Supra are more of GT cars with more confort and luxury than the FD...The FD is a true sport car.

Straight line speed, a 6spd supra is almost untouchable.

Obviously with work done to it.

But alot of supras, even with only 600rwhp, can chase down 600 bikes.

Its the big turbo and their gearing is almost perfect for highway rolls. Thats why they beat everything.

i have chased down 600cc bikes on my 400 wheel rx-7. and taken down stronger bikes that are older. the biggest advantage to a 6 speed supra is the gear ratio that it has set. if you put that tranny in any car it would be a monster. it just sets the powerband every time you shift.

as for you boostn. unfair running 500whp on straight pump but, good for you that is sick some serious tuning there.

Yeah thats what i meant. Their gear ratios are perfect. Especially those big single guys. Cause its like a never ending pull.

And when i meant chased down 600 bikes meaning off a roll, the bike gets the jump and lead and the supra reels them in.

If you can do that in your car, you have a fast *** car. And i want 400rwhp lol
