A little Street racing back in the day FD vs EVO & z06

This was 5 years ago on my old setup.

t78 14psi=390hp....
apexi power fc.

1st run was messing with the radio
2nd run not break boosting
3rd run not break boosting & spinning tires (going sideways in the lane)

evo was 465hp & z06 was 380hp

That was slowvette's old C6, thats not a Z.

THIS was the race of your rematch when he sold his reg C6 and got a C6Z.

Yeah it's definitely all cool..

Just correcting you when you said z06 and it was his reg c6.

But give his new c6z props. His stock z took down your heavily modded fd. Just imagine how fast that car would be if he put in the money for mods the same way you're doing? Damn.

I mean I'm sure your bigger turbo wasnt cheap.

A C6Z costs just a little bit more than a used 1993 RX-7. Bringing dollars into the equation is a bit retarded IMO.

Never said anything about the cost of the cars. I said if the owner of the Z put as much money into his car for mods as the other guy, it would be a totally different story. Of course the FD will be cheaper bang for buck.

But you cant argue the fact that the guy had to spend insane amount of money on his FD to lose to a stock C6Z.

So it's ok to talk about cost of modding, but not cost of the actually car itself?

Absolutely. Because OP said, "ya & then i got a bigger turbo & i spanked him".

Meaning he has to modify his car heavily to compete with a stock car. Thats why i said give the Z props, because it took a ton of modifications to the FD to still lose to a stock Z.

To be fair, 2500 dollars in mods to an LS7 will bring the Z to over 600rwhp.

So OP would need an even "bigger turbo" to compete. How much money does it take to bring an FD to 600rwhp? You should know. Its not cheap.

Ok not over 600rwhp but damn close.

All it takes is intake, headers exhaust and a big cam.

Lots of guys have that and are making 550-580rwhp depending on cam.

Just thought that was funny.

Its post like this that gives rx7 owners a bad name.

There's a black rx7 that traps 150? How about some daily driven c6z's that trap 160s?? like house of boost z06? or race proven z06?? Stock as hell looking cars that run deep into the 160s or plus.

No once i get the z i wont regret selling the rx7. I've had it long enough. Its a great car but i need to upgrade. A car that with that much power stock, that exotic look and there is no replacement.

Tell us this, how much did you spend to get your fd to where it is rwhp wise?

And ill tell you how much most people spend for their z, or how much ill spend to get to that lol

Dont lie now, because i know how much it costs for rx7s lol. Its alot.

Repeat- lets see the boosted vette, I know you have more powah now.

Back to the evo, you claimed 380 on a t78 at 14psi and claim the evo had 465. An evo weights 3200-3300lbs... some thing in those numbers don't add up. Just saying... How many dead hookers did he have in the trunk??

Well my budding has a fn rocket ship... any one wana race that!!! lol

still , the FD is a early 90's car, vs mid 2000's top of the line corvette, and a late 2000's high tech AWD beast Evo ....

so the RX7 is still the "underdog" in my opinion.
the RX7 and Supra (and Skylines in Canada, since we have easily over 500 of them spreaded up in Quebec/Toronto/Vancouver)) are some of the only cars to be able to hang with the high end sport cars of the current era.

Wasn't the OP called out for lying about a bunch of races and HP numbers a few years ago? Then no-showed people when they challenged him heads up several times and failed to provide time slips from the track to back up some of his claims?

For some reason I'm recalling this from 3-5yrs ago...some of the S. FL guys would remember or the entire cluster **** is in the SE Section somewhere. Fairly certain same guy.

I remember too. He gets owned a lot on the other forums lol.

Its because of his false claims. C6 z06 making 380rwhp? A fully bone stock c6z with 87 in the tank on a 110 degree day won't even dyno that low of a number.

He does have a fast *** fd no doubt but when you're running stock to mildly modded high performance machines and you spent a TON more money on your car and you're bragging? It sounds ridiculous.

You nailed it. Pretty much anything can be made "faster" than a higher priced car with no mods so why brag? I guarantee that 99% of the people on the planet would rather own the "slow" C6 Z06 over the FD...much less a true exotic.

Exactly.

Although like all forums 99% of the people here would still own an fd lol. This is rx7club.

That 1% of people here, me included know how much of a beast the c6z is. Its too much car for the average person.

That's why I'm getting rid of mine. My fd was a blast, got a ton of stares but I need something better. Something more daily driver friendly. Revving to 5000rpm just to pace normal moving traffic gets annoying.

I could have spent 10k in performance upgrades like single Turbo, tune, etc but then what? I've read countless threads about how "everything was right but it feels blown". Being down 10k and you cant enjoy the car with 100% confidence, gets old.

I don't wanna go that route.

Having 505hp stock with a warranty? You cant go wrong.

I can't wait til I get mine.

As Rich noted above, spending money on a $100k+ Z06 vs. spending, let's say $15k on RX-7 modifications, is much less expensive (cost is a metric you highlighted). Spending on the car or asociated mods is irrelavent - its still the same money spent. As for Z's being a "beast"....they are mid 11 second cars trapping, on average, mid 120s....pretty quick but hardly a beast to a properly modded FD owner. There's also a Vette on every street corner as you pointed out yourself.
There is nothing wrong with liking a Z, its just that some modded FD owners don't see it as a better value or upgrade like you. As they say, different strokes for different folks. Seriously, I do hope you enjoy your Z06.

Since when is a z06 100k? I'm talking about a z06, not a zr1.

C6Z's can be had for as low as 38k used.

That would still come with GM's extended warranty and 505 to play with stock.

I'm not here comparing best bang for buck, because there are better candidates for that over the fd.

I'm talking about when people brag when they beat a STOCK car when they spend 10,15+ grand on their car.
