Killed by a Z06 tonight

I am running REALLY rich right now, so I'm pretty sure if I upgraded my fuel system and got a tune for around 12-13psi I might be able to pull on him a little. It was a 2002 stock z06. Was a good guy.

My car had 12psi tuned by Steve, Intakes, Med IC, D/P, HFC, N1. Except we went 2 times the first time we started from 100kmh in 4th so about 3500rpm the second time I started from third and we went up to ~ 220km/h (toping out 4th). First time I got raped and second time he was walking me. Strange thing is we continued the second run and there was one of those long curbs in highways going 200km/h+ we entered the curb at the same time, I came out of the curb he was still in the middle of it maybe 10 car lengths behind.

This is a funny thread because we know their is not a single FD that could beat a C6 Z06. And we all know that no FD out there makes 500+hp. :shakes head:
And for a C5 Z06 they only put down about 365 stock so an FD with 300+hp would run pretty close to it, and with about 330-340 could probably take it due to about a 300lb advantage.

Stock C6 Z06's are fast, but they're beatable if you're pretty well modded. There is one guy that took his stock C6 Z06 to the track on Drag Radials, and ran a 10.85 or so IIRC. It took him a total of around 55 passes to get it down to that, but he did, and IIRC the same guy also has the fastest time on a stock C5 Z06 on DRs. Stock C5 Z06s aren't nearly as hard to beat, but they're not easy either, so hanging close to one is respectable.
I haven't raced many cars since going single, and I'll admit that I 'lost' my first race to a VR4. Long story short, my tires couldn't handle 10psi on the T67, and the ***-end of my car was catching up to the front-end, and fast. Even when I kept out of the gas a bit to limit my boost, I wasn't able to keep it from breaking loose, so he 'won'.

Boostn7 ran in the 10's at 126 on the stock twins with a whole lot less than 600 runs under his belt.
