killed by an SUV and a truck (literally)

just a little (true)story while im stuck at college, with no assignments to do. can't really get the thoughts out of my head.

driving down the 22east freeway on sunday 2:30am, in my white s5 FC, a toyota 4runner clips my rear right bumper, and then decides to run for it, after a second car, a black truck (tacoma, or similar small truck, collides into me in the SAME SPOT.

the 7 just lost :[

im amazed how the rear of my FC held up... but the black truck decides to offroad it, and run too, so im sitting there ... f*ed. so i decide... hell im gonna go after that 4runner.. so i chase the 4runner.. while my FC has its rear bumper smashed up into the wheel well. and i shine my brand new projectors in hopes of getting the plate... the 4runner is going 90+mph. i continued to chase.. and then they decide to BRAKE CHECK me, so i would collide into them. after that. the driver decides to floor it. and try it again, when i start back on its tail. luckily i was able to record the car's plate into my girlfriends voicemail, during the brake checking. (the chase went on for AT LEAST 10 miles, from fairview -> tustin

finally, when they realize its no use trying to lose me, they stop on the shoulder. i then stop, and then they proceed to floor it, as another last ditch maneuver. they exit and run a red light, at high speed over a large dip... oh they think they got me cause of course.. i would not fly over a dip with my new front bumper :[... but i guess luck finally changed its mind cause the light turned green for me when i got there. after 2 more streets the driver then stops near a neighborhood, probably waiting for "the homies" after i cut them off. i guess they dont want to ram me again and see what happens. they deny the accident ever happened, and as i said, "i need your information" they said, "give me YOUR information i didnt do sh*t".. as a friend in the car probably drunk and of course incompetent says threatening words, racist words, and they both say their friends saw the whole thing. if that were true, why was i on the chase for miles, and she did not pull over even though i was honking, highbeaming, and stopped her once before, and she continued to drive away. it makes no sense. but as it seemed that these people would try to hi-jack me if i left my vechicle i glanced at the evidence i needed and went on my way, due to threatening, and lack of co-operation.

the 7 wins?

even though my ride is destroyed.... in my eyes. im amazed that it held up on 2 collisions to the rear right wheel, and a high speed chase on freeway. i got the plate and filed a police report, but im not sure whats going to happen now, i KNOW the driver will deny it, and they did show some damage to the correct area.. (a small crack in the bumper and alot of paint rub in the area, that fits into the gapping hole in my rear end.) i doubt the driver is going to be home when the police said they are going to the address.. i hope they continously check. before they repair their car, making the only evidence disappear...

hope jail time is involved.

---side note.
i'll probably be selling doors, black carpets, black interiors, and everything that is left untouched. still have the left side of the s5 tail in mint. and everything else is okay, massive rear frame damage, might also sell my 2 hoods, and bodykit (r-magic [shineautoproject replicated])... unless i buy another s5 tII...

That sucks man, hope it turns out for you. Keep us updated.

EDIT: Quick thought, have your girlfriend save that voicemail, and use that as evidence. You WERE chasing them correct? IF you have evidence that you were driving fast to catch the plate, you might be able to use that in your defense. (Not like the 7 is quiet) You just gave me a great idea for if that ever happens to me though...call someone and get a voice mail and leave it run during the chase, yell the liscense plate, vehicle description and people description.

But that voicemail may be important, so have her save it.

I feel for you.

Same thing happened to me sort of.
Got smashed on the left rear, though the driver stoped and I got his details but he later denied the crash. Fortunately he was in a council/government car so the damage to his car backed up my story. Good news was I got insurance and he got fired and a court date… hope it turns out as well for you

updates*

i've contacted my lawyer, and hes sorting out things with my insurance, and chiropractor.

the police have not notified me about the "hit n runner(s)".
and yes it is a felony. usually Jail time. unless they are illegal aliens. then that means deportation. but if they dont have insurance, i can't really get any money from them...

the insurance company labeled the car as a "Total Loss" .... KBB prices went on on the 7 though right? so hopefully i make more on the car than i paid for it. plus a part out.

...and im in the market for a new S5 TII, hopefully if i find one, i can put my old mods onto that. and if all else fails i can always put a downpayment on a new car. looking at a S2k, and a MX-5. i dont feel right driving anything but a 7 though.

will update some more as soon as the insurance/police give me the details on the suspect and claim amount.

thanks for your sympathy everyone. hope none of you are around reckless SUV/TRUCK drivers.... (ie. SOCAL) haha.

Man, I was almost in a similar situation, but the driver that hit me decided to pull over after an 1/8 mile chase. I do hope it'll work out for you. I'm still waiting for my ordeal to be sorted out almost a month later

Why the hell didn't you call 911? Dispatch would've stayed on the line with you and directed vehicles to your location. They don't joke about hit and runs, they yank you out of your car at gunpoint if you're driving crazy enough.

my insurance company is harrassing the person with mail asking for insurance information. i have 21st century.. so im guessing my premium wont jump up cause it wasnt my fault?
im pretty sure the person who hit me is going to deny it and say i cut them off or something stupid like that... but yeah i will update again when my insurance begins its procecution

currently looking into a FD (the FC i found ended up sucking) but if that falls through i'll be forced to buy something more "new and reliable"

Read closely: "currently looking for FD, if that fails looking for something newer/more reliable".

well i got my insurance money on the total loss call.

i got double of what i bought it for and still able to keep the car for parts/part out.

the hit/runner still has not responded.

but in the end i am content with my situation now. since its ALMOST fully resolved.
