Okay....So you hit second and just decided to "wait". A LOT of these stories on this forum have me scratching my head, especially when you have people "hanging with/ beating" LS1's and the like with FB's and FC's. Makes me think, is it a joke sometimes? And the good ol' "Its because we're SOOO LIGHT!" excuse comes into play...

2300 lbs + turbo at 12 PSi = a car fast enough to surprise you.

Maybe you should buy a clue and realize that our weight is not an excuse, but rather, an advantage against the pigs that now roam the highways and bi-ways of our country.

It shouldn't be that hard for you to realize that when you weigh, on average, atleast 700 pounds less than the majority of the other cars on the road, you don't need massive power to blow the doors off of many people. Of course, when you drive a cruise ship like you do, it is a little easier to understand how you can't understand the concept of "light weight."

For example, take a first gen and give it 255 flywheel horsepower just like the stock FD and run them. The 500 pound advantage to the FB will all but guarantee a victory.

Nice kill, TurboSE! Rep. the FB well, man.

Just because our cars didn't come with as much power as the FD, doesn't mean that we can't be fast, too.

:high-five:

Those S2K guys have a serious ego-problem. On the one hand they do have a beautiful, reliable, sweet handling little roadster. On the other hand they just payed $32,000+ for a 14.5 second car.

I love pulling on em too. Even the modded ones just can't hang! 'Grats on the kill.

Ok an FC with a TII engine on stock turbo at 12 PSI will take an S2000, i'm almost positive, Let alone an FB with a TII swap running 12lbs!

yeah i find it funny that RX7's FB FC and FD's are so cheap for what you get, they really are. the motors are pretty easy to rebuild if you gave a more advanced knowlege of how to break things down and put them back together properly, much more so than a piston engine. and yet, people still **** out 30 40 50 60 70K on cars that look nice but still cant truly out perform a 15K FD with 30K under the hood.

People that start to pay 30- 70k for cars dont really always buy them for performance, they want the status attatched to the vehicle. And people who DO buy those cars for performance...usually mod their cars to destroy an FD with a lot of money invested such as owners of Porsches, Vipers, Supras, Z06's...etc. Not to mention that these cars also dont have to rebuild their engines as often..if at all.

ohh yeah, I forgot about all those piston engines that don't need a rebuild until 500k. Rotaries are more reliable when beat. Race engines are typically rebuilt less than piston counterparts.

Yea we do. Like most of us really give a **** if we get beat by an FB or FC.

90% of the s2k's that you run up against on the street don't have any mods that make any power. Bolt-ons do close to nothing on that engine. Supercharged or Turbo'd s2k's are pretty brutal on a course or on the highway where the high-revs make a differance.

I laugh my *** off everyday when I see kids in their 240's and FC's that rev on me. It's flattering.

I dunno, if I had $32k+ performance car and got beat by $7k worth of dented, primered FB I'd give a ****.

Meh. I've beaten a supercharged S2K from a dig, and twice from a highway-roll... in 5rd gear... on low boost... They're really just not that impressive, even boosted.

The saddest thing is, I've managed to raw-time at least 1 modded S2K in local autocrosses with nothing done to prop up my 20 year old suspension but a set of 225-series Hoosiers. If anything, I should have gotten my ***-stomped there! Of course, the driver is the ultimate factor here but still!

Most of them are probably laughing at you in their rear-view.

Indeed it is.

most S2k owners really just dont care. Yes, they probably have a first reaction of when an older car walks them. But the reality is, most of these guys still have a reliable, warranty covered, 240hp, car which revs to 9k rpms without taking a breath. Do you really think that they go home and wonder why they got beat by a 10+ year old car? Most likely, No. But if they do, they spend the amount of money it took for you to buy your car and use it towards performance. Give me a break, an FC or 240sx is an old car. My DSM is an old car. So what if they can be made crazy fast with modifications? So can the s2000. And the s2000 not so impressive? And stock FC's and 240sx's are? An 04 S2k can run a 14.10 and there have been reports of good drivers getting 13.7 not so impressive? Get over yourselves. The S2k is an impressive car, especially for a honda.
