killed one then got smoked by another

Well I was on the highway after a local car meet and on my way to where a lot of other cars usually meet up to do some racing. At first a ricer blows by in an eclipse and then the s2000 pulls up. It looked stock all the way around but just to be sure I backed off a little and I could see that it still had paper tags. I figured that he didnt want to play around......unfortunetly for him he did. He took of first, so I drop to 3rd, played catch up and started to pass him. I caught up so fast that I decided to blow off next to him(yeah I know it was mean), then I backed off the throttle a little let him catch up, blew off again and and started to pull away from him again. Anyway that was the win part of the story.

So I get to the area and of course there r a few cars going at it. I pull in and I noticed a 350z with a kit on it. I didnt really think anything of it at first. Some kid runs up to me and askes me if I wanted to run the Z. At first I was thinking no...but before I can get the words out hes like yea he just put a turbo on it(I think he said it was an spl turbo setup). Anyway I figured why not...I was thinking that I would lose because of everything he spouted off that the guy had and how well it was tuned. I figured he was pushing about 350 to 375 at the wheel. We line up he wants to run in 2nd gear starting at 40 so I said ok.
3 honks later he instantly puts about 1/2 a car on me, by third gear hes at 2 cars and holding all the way to 4th gear. Im thinking damn what the hell just happened. So I line up with him one more time. This time 1st gear and a 20 mile roll on. 3 honks again. 1st gear I hold him off, 2nd gear he shootsup ahead of me, by the end of 3rd gear hes about a car and 1/2 ahead. Talk about smoked. That is the first time Ive had so much respect for a 350Z. I can honestly say that car was built right. The guy was really cool too. I need more power.

I just got some more details on the 350Z...this is what one of the guys on my local forum wrote(he also ownes a 350Z) :

"actually he should have over 400 to the wheels, im putting down 387 with my vortech sc, headers, test pipes and exhaust. the white z that you raced has APS twin turbo, test pipes and same exhaust as me, im guessing he should have around 405-415 wheel hp. APS is known for producing great numbers for our cars. "

Well at least I know it was by a much faster car.

how much are you putting down? Just trying to gauge whats going on with these TT Zs out there...dont wanna get surprised!

So they're squeezing more than 120hp over stock...interesting!

Oh yeah, r u gonna try and get him back???? I know id try!

My friend with his said that he dynoed at 265 270 at the wheels...not much tuning stock motor with a few bolt ons. We raced twice and same results...I pulled on him in 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th. I was still pulling on him right up until we shut down in 4th. So I am estimating mine to be some where around 280-300 at the wheel. Im just guessing now so dont quote me. Its been driving me crazy too so I am going to be dynoing it some time before the show and go competition in November. Ill update my mods and numbers as soon as I get everything worked out.

As for trying to get him back. Yup....I like 350Z,s but not enough for them to beat me as bad as that one did. I told him Ill be back for a rematch after I did some more upgrades....hehehehehe. Hopefully I havent bit off more than I can chew.
