Coils control it in that they take your source, amplify it, and then release it, and they are put together better than the factory one. They would still have a stronger spark than stock.

*Sigh* Alright, I admit defeat. I really dont want to, because now people are really going to enjoy tearing into me. I looked up on All (read: No) Data today, 2001 Chevrolet Corvette, to see what the vin digit was for the engine code. Engine code G is base, code S is Z06, with LS6.

So, I admit my defeat, But I still claim that they told me at the Bowling Green, KY plant that the 01 had an LS1...and several other mechanics as well. Guess I should have checked All Data and made sure? Anyways. Enough on the subject of me being wrong.

Nope, I enjoy driving it too much to sell it.

Uh....you're kidding...right? I was being totally sarcastic. Look, I have no doubt that the OP in his LSI FC beat the Z06, and some of the known non-bullshitters with nice running near-stock FDs have obviously had some success with taking them on, but man....when in the past we've seen people claiming the same thing with N/A FBs and FCs, I just had to take a stab at being as totally ridiculous!

MSD coils are not needed until you are about 600 hp. My friend, and many use the stock coils for low 10's. stock bottom end over 500 rwhp going 10.4:

My bros evo ownes them all the time. HE challenges them from a dig. he 2 steps the evo from the dig.. OUT!!!! of course if its the highway the bike sometimes catches up. depending on what kinda bike

yeah, bullshit on the evo story, I GUARANTEE that any crotch rocket over 600cc's will have caught, passed, and overall raped an evo before the evo even hits tehe end of 2nd gear. and those are the only gears where evos really pull hard, 3rd gear-up they kinda fall on their face (don't flame, I've driven plenty of evos)

How do you kno his evo is not gt45r'ed out? With AMS's 2.4l stroker motor? spraying alky? Making 900whp like the infamous "black evo from florida" AKA chris' evo.

stock vs. stock, an fd will walk away from an evo on the highway (trust me, I've done it.) and I'm not saying they don't pull, but compared to the fd, once they are up and going, evo's don't pull that hard. from 3rd gear on, I was very unimpressed with the evo. great off the line, and they handle kinda good, but ... mehhh.

dude the stock evo u raced must have been pre 2005. After 2005 they got electronic center diff's for properly distributing the power where needed. (not wasted on all 4 wheels all the time. like old sti's)
My bro's 2005. raced a 2003. stock vs stock... my bro beat him pretty bad.
oh and the 05's come with a slighty bigger turbo from factory anyways.

actually, it's been alot more than one, but the one I was really referring to was a 2005 evo 8 mr. and like I said, I've driven them as well, so it's not just "oh I've beaten one so now I'm gonna talk ****." no. I actually know what I am talking about, and I don't see an evo (unless it's like 900+hp) pulling on a 1000cc ANYTHING. show me some vids, and I will believe you. otherwise.......BULLSHIT!!!

like I said, he would need at least 8-900 hp just to start talking. You do know R1's are 9 sec bikes, right? Isn't the fastest EVO8+ a 9 second car??

they might touch high 8's, given perfect track conditions, but those are fully built, sponsored cars, and they are put back together after every few pulls.

I really don't see the point in bragging about someone esle's ride but on your way to FL you can stop here and get killed by my friends EVO. He dyno'd at 748whp with a GT35r @ 40psi, now he just installed a GT42 so you be the judge on how much WHP hes pushing now. O yeah, I forgot about the meth injection now too. Hes on TopSpeed's web site if you wanna look. Just look for a red EVO from La.
I'm not bragging about his **** either, just letting you know you can come here, race, get drunk on Burbon and then go to FL.
