Got'Em --STI DOWN, check

SO i was on the freeway (605 south) going to the suppossed OC DYNO day at RR&R and i'm chillin in the middle lane when i start to see this blue car blurry in my mirror( cause it's on old car and alittle loose) and they finally get up to me and i look over and there's two guys in a 2002 or 03 sti looking back at my car, talking. I give them alittle brrraaaaaappppppp with a second of wastegate and sure enough they're on the hook. the guy puts it into 4 and so did I. i heard his motor start to get up and go and again i stepped on the gas and flew straight buy those guys. Hitting 5th i was already screaming past 2 lengths. The guy catches up to me and puts his window down and asks me ( what ya got in der' a freakin GT35?) I was like na, T04

Yeah, the evo was an answer to the impreza and the STi was Subaru's answer to the Evo. Therfore when the evo cam out in 03 Subaru came out with the Sti in 04 to compete.

I agree with you, all you did was correct him.... however we all know he meant the earliest model STI.

lol I come from a big subaru back ground and I agree all he was doing was trying to correct him... but alot of people badge their wrx's as sti's... if it's bug eyed though we (america) never got an sti version impreza in that style.... I however had a 00 impreza with a ver 4 sti conversion so techicaly I had a gc8 sti... oh and the sti wasn't the answer to the evo.... sti's have been around longer than evo's fwiw. I believe 93 was the first sti and 94 was the first evo. (I still want an evo 4).
Anyhow I feel the same as the above... the sti turned into a damn family car.

we did a 2jz into a sc300...the wiring takes a freakin Toyota engineer to figure out.

1jz is much much simpler, and it bolts up to the tranny with a bell housing.

+1 I have to take ITS N STI side on this one, I owned a impreza for a couple of years. He is 100% correct on this one
