Today i went to the gernanda hills car meet. It was insane BTW. A **** load of ricers all racing burning out, some sick cars, Vipers, vettes,v8;s ect. I was just watching. Being the only FD their people were comming and going asking questions. "Dude is it turbo?!!" "You Drift?" I just played cool and watched. I met this guy who had a very moddified Srt-4.

Srt-4 had........ Huge FMIC, 3inch turboback with no muffler. (backfires made me deaf) intake, and stage1 ecu 2psi higher not tuned. had 4 people in it tho. It sounded sick.

So I talk to the guy, and being the only fast import cars their, everyone was begging us to race. A m3 came up to me and asked if i wanted to race for $1k. I would probably win, but for the risk factor and possibly getting shot i smiled and said "no thanks." Eventually we decided to QUIETLY go on the freeway and do a nice pull. By the time we sneak to our cars, and pull out, about 15 cars are following us racing. I thought to myself "OMG im so getting caught today"

THE RACE:
The freeway is down about 2 miles. Long straight, fat road is ahead of us with NO cars. Red light, and the guy says, should we do a quick one here before. 2-3 gears? I thought, looked around, checked my radar detector and said WTF why not. Since his car burns 1st, we started 40mph second. Good for him, bad for me. 3 honks and we flew. 2nd gear we were dead even, third comes and i stared pulling. Got about 1 car on him until about 6.5 grand than my Cousin yells COP!!! ****!!! the cop was giving someone a ticket and we blew by going 90.

The cop chase:
Not really a chase, but I was shitting my pants. 0 points on my record. 3.5 GPA, Parents trust,car, everything is on the line here. I continue gunning it in third. The SRt-4 went straight gunning it and I went left into a dead neighborhood. chilled for 5 min then came out all chill. Met up with the guy, both of us shaking and happy to be safe and not in jail. Then i went home. slowly.

Im 17 and usually dont get involved in dangerous and stupid things. I mean ill race to 100-110 on the freeway if its good situation but not on the streets. I dont usually or ever race in streets but this time i did, and never again.

BTW my car is tuned with DP,HFC,CB,PFS Intake/IC, PFC. THe tuners dyno wasnt working so i dunno how much Hp. Probably around 300. BUT, my plugs are ****, very bad and i need 9;s all around. If the srt-4 lost 2 of his passenger, and i got my plugs in, i think the outcome will be the same. He is also getting tuned, then IDK, need more mods.

Also, how in the **** was your GPA on the line? I've never seen a ticket that costs 2 points off your GPA...

cuz he is lying, DUH. He was sucking you in, are you new to the streetracing game? You win for free, then lose for money..... BE CAREFUL hommie, the cops can keep the car for a min 30 days for racing, then send you to the smog techs to have a look. 2 Times in the same car= the keep it and your in jail.

 

Well obviously the SRT-4 guy was not completely honest. I beat one (my FD had just a cat-back exhaust, SRT-4 had intake, exhaust, and Mopar Stage 1 package - his first loss ever) from 40-145mph and at about 125mph I started to walk him steadily until we let off.

Sounds like a good race tho. I always enjoy racing SRT-4's

 

well.. ill tell ya, srt-4's are fast, but i tell u what, u made it home no problem, i bet on the way home, that guy had some massive engine problems, those cars cant last for **** when u rag on em.. lol.. they fall apart after a race.. one word = G.A.R.B.A.G.E

 

srt-4's friend was my friend and we did a friendly race. Were gonna race again after i get my plugs and he loses 3 passsengers.

What WHP is Srt-4 with those mods?

 

Stage 1 with intake and exhaust I have seen a dyno sheet at 256whp

my turbo II with bolt-ons took a srt4 with intake... i still think they are uuuugly

 

Were gonna run again and ill post the video. Hopefully new plugs will help out a lot.

 

I've seen srt-4's run deep 11's and other's have trouble breaking into 14's (bad driver or shitty tune). They both looked stock. It's crazy how fast the cars can get with oem mods and how slow they can be with a bad driver. I guess it's like any other car, but you don't know how fast they are until you stomp on one or see their tail lights.

SRT are fast but have a lot of problems with traction thats why you will never see them run consistant. Also if anyone hasnt put this together the louder the backfire the larger the injectors. At least thats been my conclusion with the srt people I know. Backfires are a good sign they are still running the stock fuel system wich it a return-less system. If you ever hear one thats sounds good with no backfires watch out its extremelly modded Ive only heard one and it was 500+ hp.

Im not going to jump on my soap box, you sound like you are intelligent about when/where you do your thing. You remind me of myself a couple years ago.

Props on having a good clean race, and not ending up in jail. Glad youve decided that you wont race on the street. Highway is a much smarter choice, during the non crowded hours.

Hope your races continue to turn out this well for you, props on the kill!

Yes i paid for it myself. I saved money from the age of 15 for my Rx7 parts. I had an old infiniti I30 5spd which i drove and learned on. Sold that for 4K, then bought my Saab 9000 turbo for 2K as a DD. My dad made a loan for my FD, and im paying off the loan. I have a job btw. My parents pay for insurance tho lol.

BTW, were gonna do a rematch really soon, with video. Im just waiting to get a Y-pipe because for some reason, im boosting 11psi and im tuned for 12psi. I think y-pipe should jump it to 12.
