FC vs GTO

My hands are still shaking from this so bear with me.

I was coming home from Albertsons on SR-436 just giving it a little boost, nothing major, I turned right onto Aloma(SR-426) towards Oviedo and thought there was this ricey 240 behind me so I took the turn semi-quick and blew-off. He raced through the corner pretty quickly and we came to a stoplight, but it wasn't a 240, infact a Pontiac GTO. Gray, bone-stock and we just kind of drove next to each other for a bit and he proceeded to get in front of me. I was thinking to myself, "you don't want none of this.." My turn came up at Goldenrod(551) and put my blinker on. As soon as I did this he hit the brakes and turned too. I grinned, oh yeah let's see what she's got. Well as I turned to catch up to him I heard him give it throttle so I opened up in 2nd. He pulled a little because he got the jump but I easily reeled him in by the time I shifted out of second(which was a little low at 6.5k), shifted to third and kept pulling. My left hand turn came immediatly after so I hit the brakes and he flew by WOT. Well well, my first run-in with any car since I've had this TII. Not too shabby.

Mods are in sig. Car made 335RWHP on a regular Dynojet Dyno, 294RWHP on a Mustang, both at 10psi.

good kill! did it have the hood scoops or just plain hood? hood scoops is usually the 400hp LS2. those are low 13's. sounds like you are mid lower 12's or so with over 300whp LOL

ls1 gto's with a good driver will run 13.2-13.0 ish.
ls2 gto's I have seen go 12.88's bone stock.
just hard pressed to find good drivers in most of them.

nice kill though mitch, there is a barbados blue (pale aqua like color)ls1 goat that is supercharged around the area, he may have been a better match for you.

I didn't pay attention to their sixty foot times or trap speeds.

Yeah, a SC GTO would be a little scary, hehe.

I think I'm gonna control the boost to around 8psi to keep this motor lasting long(9.4:1 rotors are afraid of boost).

yeah alot of ls1 goats are mid higher 13's. ls2 goats are low 13's.

but the ls1 cars have horrible wheel hop issues... the LS2 car is improved but still has some wheel hop issues

bah, its irs, of course its going to have some wheelhop if you dump the clutch, a little slip and you are in the clear though at least on the ol stocker tires. but yeah irs lives vicariously through wheelhop.

usually u can get away with slippin the clutch to eliminate wheel hop, but it takes good practice to get it down right, to get those good 60 foots
