Couldnt race because my car was on dead E , this happened to anyone ?

I was flashing my high beams to show my friend my lights were on and this 1988 or whatever year chevy monte carlo ss with exhaust or whatever it may have had making it louder (tips , headers etc) , who knows what was on it.

Well after I flash my lights to show him, the monte carlo slows down like i flashed the lights because i wanted to race him. He stays cruising right next to me side by side just waiting for me to go, but i cant cuz ill run out of gas , he proceeds to start revving his engine and then floors it and goes.

Anyways , my car was on dead E , im talkin like at the bottom bar on the two lowest orange bars on the fuel gauge where the E is so racing would of had me out of gas before i made it home.

I checked the stats on that beast and it has a v8 5.0 (305 cubic inch i believe) with 180hp/225 torque and weighs 3380 lbs. I believe my rx7 would have had a good chance of beating it , and i wish i could of raced to see if i was right because it would of been fun to brag about and i would have been laughin my *** off after beating him.

Hopefully I'll see him again one day when my car has more gas

Tell your parents to buy you more gas?

Heh. I don't usually let mine go below 50%.

Great story about being low on gas. I can't wait to hear about it when you run low again

I was coming home from work once and was just on absolute FUMES with about 5 miles to go to the nearest gas station when a bunch of kids in a beat up Honda got on my ***, started weaving all around, I could see them laughing in my rear view mirror. Traffic cleared and they pulled alongside me and the kid in the rear passenger seat had the window down and was like, "COME ON!" and.....I didn't dare. I just kept driving the speed limit, and eventually they passed and went on ahead of me.
That sucked.
When I got to town and put fuel in, I put 20 gallons in....lol!

I race on E, the less weight the better, in the FC anyway. I have a sumped tank in the FD.

Depends on where I am. If I'm bingo fuel out in the country or headed back home on the interstate, no way, I don't want to get stuck anywhere. If it's just around town, one pass won't hurt because there's probably a gas station around the corner.
