13b-RE vs sr20det? no contest, the RE is roughly the = to a REW just in cosmo, and the stock cealing on a sr20 hp wise is about 400-500hp. So tell him to take a hike in his slow as sr20, lol. but if it was the 13b-T then i would say there about even.

I never seen any dyno results, but Racing beat claims a 59hp increase from a turbo back exhaust on a s4 t2. With minor mods a t2 will womp on a sr20. It also hasa lot bigger of a turbo stock too.
Stock vs stock the sr20 does have 205hp for the s13 engine. 180hp for s4 and 200for s5.
On the side note. I dont know why so many people are crazy about the sr20 nowadays, especially since its JDM. They were here in the USA since 1991, just in the sentra and g20. minor differnces in sr20det vs sr20de. 240sx's have been out for a long time too. Oh well, Initial D is real I tell you!

Haha, you guys are funny, once again denying fact, just because you all have the 7 chip on your shoulder. I have owned 5 sr20 powered vehicles, and well, a rotary could never be a SR20, bummer for the rotary Nervous little engine.

Sr20's are praised for their strong blocks in the 90's, blocks are stronger now in newer cars. Their valvetrain design was made for cost effectiveness, and not for high rpm reliability. That is why they sell those Rocker Arm Stoppers, so you dont shoot a rocker through your head and need another one. Instead you chew up your valvetrain. Another thing about the sr20 is the ports and combution chamber. If you want to look at a good design, look at the honda stuff.
Sr20 is like any other dohc turbo 4 cyl in the 90's. The better of the sr20's are the sr20ve(t). Which are transverse mounted and take a few way to mount ona rwd setup. There is nothing special about hte standard highport sr20, or the lowport sr20 with or without VTC
