Bad cobra driver.

After Irp drags tuesday night I was driving home and spotted a cobra just like mine(96-98). I downshift to see if he wants some, he looks at me and goes about his way. Well about a mile later I'm gettting on an exit ramp and notice that he is coming up on me pretty quick, I accelerate smoothly through the turn and then punch it at the apex and roll out real srtong. I look in my rearview to see if try to follow me and he almost lost it after the apex as I saw the side of his car and him fight the wheel to get back straight. I was laughing so hard. Looks like someone needs some driver ed courses. I was in the cobra btw.

It's pretty much stock level hp(filter, muffler) which is like 260-270rwhp. Most guys swap out the rears as a first mod beacuse the stockers are 3.27. Some guys are seeing as much as a .7 drop in the quarter with 4.10's.

Plus you have an extra 1k RPM to work with than us GT guys, 4.6 is a dog down low so it helps quite a bit.

Any plans for it?

Did he even try to hit the apex? Or did he take the whole turn?

It sounds like maybe he took the whole turn and when you shot out fast, he hit the gas trying to catch up.

Those Mustangs sure do get loose in the rear easy. Good thing he didn't crash trying to hang with the FD.

How were the times at the strip? Elevation, temp?, 60ft and stuff? You have one mean FD for sure.

I believe he was in his cobra also. That's the way I'm reading it.

What? That makes no sense. If there is a turn there is an apex, he was following right behind me. He early apex'ed which is why he caught up and ran out of road at the end which is what occurs with an early apex. It doesn't matter the shape of the road.

Greg I was in the cobra. My best that night was a 14.2@98.62mph.Slow

I think what Jeff was trying to say, is "Did he accelerate at the apex, like he should have or did he accelerate early, perhaps getting jumpy that you were taking off, and slide around because he was already accelerating at the apex?"

Nice car, btw...I am a huge mustang enthusiast.
