he's not a kid, he's 40 years old, its all stuff that was paid for and installed at a local Honda shop. its not that much more then stock its 240hp , he had around 200-205 to the wheels with no mods but the ecu.
his daily driver is a bmw 318. beside his R1.
too bad its stored now ... otherwise i would have taken some pics. its so nice when he has the hard top. its "spa yellow".
anyways, youll see when snow melts & we both bring out our cars.

from a roll my buddy and i tottally ate an s2k in an rx8. which of course would be anialated by an rx7. so ya... s2k's about about like having a pontiac solstice or something.. looks like it would be fast..but its a bunch of nothing.

hmmm.... id say it sounds like a long grain variety of brown rice somewhat exotic in nature, but its still rice =D
either way, when it comes down with it our rx-7s are like a giant wok, in the proverbial kitchen of the open road, stoked and waiting to fry that rice
anyway i couldnt resist an anology here... i never had trouble annihalating even heavily moddified S2k's around NY area (FD), not even the new ones. As far as racing a boosted one? hell yea id do it, especially if they were running stock internals i mean boosted N/a pushing 11.4:1 compression cant exactly run a hella lot of boost, they arent bullet proof. Never had the opportunity though. Maybe next time....

I've never had an s2000 even kinda hang, they were all n/a though, but still, not even in the same league as the fd, sti, or evo. they're talkin ****, plain and simple. a turbo s2000 is nothing to **** with (depending on boost) but stock they are not fast, they just have a crazy high redline. (9000 rpms)

I think S2000's on the twisties are in the same class as an FD stock for stock. They have great AutoX potential just like the FD's. But you would have to spend a lot to make them compare to the FD in a straight line. Both cars are pimp though.

yeah, but when you turbo them the only thing you need to do is get a bigger head gasket (naturally drops compression), and the I-vtec makes up for the rest. they're cool cars, just not that fast unless boosted.

s2000 is faster than Rx8 stock for stock. If you look at the Best motoring vidoes, the Rx8 hangs with the s2k around the turns, sometimes even does better, but straight ways, its rapped by the S2k. I dunno why you guys say a s2k is a SLOW car, it isnt really slow, just not as fast as a Rx7. Even stock for stock, I dont see why you guys say Rx7 is sooo much faster, weve only got like ~10HP advantage. Not to mention the better tranny in the s2k. Obviosly with few mods, Rx7 is a lot quicker.
My friend bought a Rx8, and they are suprisingly slow. My cousins Bolt on Rsx toasted it. (No flames please, ill post video)

I say they're not that fast because every s2k i've ever raced I have walked away from like they were sitting still. they're respectable, and buildable, but the rx7 is a better car.

My buddy drives a lot of S2Ks and he said my 6psi miata is faster. Thats pretty scientific, almost factual, definitely enough for this thread. Lack of torque is the aquilles heel of the 2.0, the 2.2 are definitely faster in day to day driving.

And no, a streetported n/a street car will not hang with an S2000, I know from experience. My first RX-7 was a well modified n/a with a streetport, my fasted 1/4 mile time was a 14.61 @ 96mph. I suppose you could manage to beat a poorly driven S2000 at a drag strip, but from a roll they will definitely win. So therefore, its ridiculous to think that a streetported n/a would hang with, let alone beat an S2000 by a few car lengths. That is unless the RX-7 had an aftermarket ECU or carb setup, but a streetable n/a FC with a streetport and stock ECU will not hang with an S2000.
And I've build a few streetported motors, have you?

Not to dig up an old thread, but I feel I can have some good input. I have owned many N/A FCs (sold one of my last ones to a forum member here that recently dynod ~190RWHP N/A), as well as Turbo2s, and recently sold my ~300whp FD, and purchased an '02 S2000. A stock FD will pull a stock S2k... I have no doubts about this. But even the fastest streetable N/A FC Ive ever been in would have no chance. It was a toss-up between the S2k and Rx8 when I was looking for a new car, and the thing that swayed me the most about the rx-8 is the lack of power, Ive driven both a good bit, many different ones, and a S2k is noticably faster than an Rx-8. I really like my S2k, it is pretty quick, and handling reminds me alot of the FD, they almost feel the same, but with the S2k powerband being a bit more linear and IMO, a much easier car to drive fast.

I'm only running some silly little intake and an hks turbo back exhaust, but my 93 had absolutely no problem making an *** of a friend of mine in his s2k. From around a 70 roll, with me not paying attention and just simply running through Fourth, an AP2 just dropped back like it was towing a boat anchor.
My other touge associate however, with a Comptech supercharged AP1, I've got nothing on. vtec in that > big turbo for moi.

BTW- Hey man hows it going? I haven't been on these forums for quite awhile.
So you like your S2000? I'm planning on buying one in the next year or so.

Ive been doing alright. The s2k is really fun, but it needs boosted. Ive only had mine for a short time and already I feel the need for more power. Its not that the car is slow, its just the lack of torque doesnt give you that "fast" feeling that Ive become used to. It handles very well and it really run to drive though.

If you want a boosted S2000, check out www.lovefab.com. Its expensive but also totally complete. I think he requires that he installs it though. He does great work, though.
