I have a civic rev on me cause he had a girl in his car. I was driving my 87 FX16 and smoked him. really funny. he eventually slowed down so i did. when he caught up i jsut laughed at him and the girl he was with and he took off.

I will never understand the whole huge spoiler thing on the front wheel drives though.

 

Because FWD will get tail happy...

Not that it matters on a car that probably never sees the track.

I'm not really believing the "1/4" throttle thing here. I had/have an N/A FC and it takes more than 1/4 throttle to pass ANYTHING. Sorry man. I'm gonna have to call it. No offense. I believe the kill, just not the 1/4 throttle thing.

 

That would be a frankenstein motor, commonly called as LS/VTEC. It combines a non-vtec bottom end and vtec top end. Basically you get low end torque and top end hpower. Although great when theyre working properly, but they arent very reliable. If you really want to be serious about boost, you would do a LS motor due to the lower compression and different stroke(due to the crank). But lets not get too technical.

Del Sol Vtecs had the b16a motor which made 160(100hp/L) Del Sol Si came with the D16 that had like 130hp, pretty disapointing to have it have a Si badge on it.

Del Sols were the heaviest civics at the time, kinda ironic.

In a mile you'll win cause b-series motors were not made for top speeds. He backed out cause he was smart & knew better than to go mile for mile with a 7. Youll dust him by the 1/2mile mark.

You can race me at the next meet & find out if you can hang with a 12 sec civic . With a nice 100 shot Ill have a 12sec civic.

 

i thought the frankenstein's were B20's - B18's with B20 heads off of a CR-V. hmm

 

The Frankenstein family......
B20 block + vtec head = B20 Vtec
LS block + vtec head = LS Vtec
GSR block + Integra Type R head = Poor man's Integra Type R motor
B16 block + Civic Type R head= Poor man's Civic Type R motor
H23 block + H22 head = high compression H series motor
K20 block + K24 head = high compression K series motor

Basically because of Honda's interchangablity between blocks & heads, any mix & match setup is a frankenstien.

 

I wouldnt consider those 2 frankenstein motors. theyre both fulled VTec ready, and direct bolt on. The others(aside from K series, I dont know much about them) are frankenstein motors. To me, frankenstein motors dont just bolt up, they require modifications.

 

One of my favorites: K24 block with K20 head.
Some of those are making near 300 whp N/A.

Yeah, smart on his part or mine??? He wanted me to go 1/4 with him...in his drag civic. Why should I accept that, mine is not set up for drag racing! I guess we all try to get that edge one way or another...lol

HANG with a 12sec civic???? Please. I got no doubt I can not only hang but beat a 12 second civic, spray or all motor. Careful, I do run 12s as it is in my lowest boost setting and without punishing the FD...I have plenty more on tap with more boost.
We can always just go ahead and race at the next meet. Just dont expect me to be slow...

 

Any car that comes out doing 13's out the factory isn't slow. Im not gonna do more than a 100 shot cause this car got a little squirly when i tried a 250 & Im scared if i miss a gear that i might blow this motor up. But Ill be ready for u.
