another c6 down

Today coming back from SC motorsports park for morlboro hot laps, i found myself next to a new C6 vette w/ exhaust, intake ( not sure what else). this is in 95 degree weather with my coolant temps around 195, so the car was heat soaked. i slow up and let it get next to me and i down shift. hes ready to go and gets the jump, then i hit it at the top of 2nd gear, and go into 3rd and walk away hard! about a minute later they catch back up and floor it ricer style next to me with a car in front of me. he sticks his hand out the targa forming a I'm #1. ha ha. i get behind him, down shift, he hits it and so do i. I cant believe my eyes, at 60 mph im pulling up the throttle not to rear end him. then he passes a car, i follow, once we are passed all the cars, i take him on the right. at this point pushing passed 100, im blowing by him. i shut off about 3 cars ahead. i waive out the window, and he will not come back to me... guess i scared him off.

this was on about 12 psi w/ pump gas, spark break up up top, and a exhaust manifold leak. not to shabby i guess. Z

another funny story: yesterday i was driving around town and pull up to a light. a dude with a crotch rocket moddified with an extended rear swing arm and God know what else revs to me and keeps looking over. I decide just to see what i can do when i notice a 03 cobra behind a couple cars and revv ( he cant go because hes behind the cars). myself and the bike roll through the intersection and nail it, i actually kept within a car length of him until 60 or so when we shut off (although it was evident he was going to blow me away after that). the bike gives a thumbs up and pulls off. then the 03 cobra comes up. he tell me " my freind here (passenger) wanted me to race you, and i was going to... until i saw you take off like that.... I said HELL NO!!" lol, nice guy... he was all stock so it was a good decision.

nice stories
That guy in the Corvette sounds like an a$$hole, and the guy in the Cobra was lucky he wasn't the one beside you at the light
Way to represent rotary-power!

BTW, what are your mods?

Nice kill! I still need to find me a C6 Z to run for ***** and giggles. In the meantime I've been hunting a local supercharged C5 Z06. When I finaly caught up to him this past weekend and asked for a run he didn't want any. But he was cool about it and said he would anothertime.

I'm probably biting off more than i can chew, But i'll be damned if they don't gotta work for the win.

aeromotive FPR
jacobs ignition
pulleys

I'm happy to hear some FD's tearing up the new C6's. That makes me happy. Now if only my FB could... ah ****. That dream is far too out there.

Your car must trap over 120mph!! I raced a C6 in the 1/4 and beat him, but if the track was longer he'd fly past me, he trapped 115mph..

The C6 is slower than a C5Z in the 1/4. Good kill, but not as impressive as if you had beaten a C5Z that time.

Most of the guys with the C6Z's probably won't know how to use them well and just have deep pockets, so make sure to murder them appropriately. Now if it's one of the guys I run with in my Vette runs, look out they'll murder you. These guys are insane and make us young guys look timid.

oh yeah, a c5 zo6 is definatly faster than a c6. i have reace a c5 z before in this car. i barely won... but i had some problems with the car at the time. id murder that car now.

One day I plan on taking my FD up on one of the Corvette/Cobra runs we do down here in So. Cal and see how she holds up with everyone. Just waiting for the weather to cool down as we tend to go way out in timbucktoo where we can go fast. The guys in the group are pretty cool and at least half of them have much respect for the FD(one guy has as new C6Z and wants to get an FD someday as well). So I can't wait to see how she fairs.

Two of my friends with C5 coupes have been debating upgrading to C6's but there's so many problems to work out on the cars I told them they'd be better off just dumping 10 grand in the C5's to get them to 500rwhp. Roofs coming off, rear ends breaking at drag strips, batteries draining because of the keyless start systems, the C6's are still problem childs.
