91 TII Vs. 06 Civic Si Coupe and 99-05 Mustang GT

Well, the story goes like this, I have a Real 91 TII used jdm motor with 105psi front and 106 psi rear rotor all bone stock except ignition wires, Ron Davis Radiator, 3" Racing Beat Exhaust, Blitz Boost Controller but at stock boost, 8psi on 4th but the race is over by the time its in 4th. Anyways, my coworker has a brand new 06 Civic Si Coupe that is bone stock but engine is broken in. He goes to the Famoso Track every now and then and runs consistent 14.8-14.9s and his best was 14.82. Well, we work at a shop, so we talk about cars, games and girls basically. My co-worker is a very cool guy but just loves to talk smack on my car. Always drawing signs of Mazdaspeed X'd out and Honda Power, I-Vtec, etc. and even stuck one on my windshield and around the shop.

91 TII vs. 99-05 Ford Mustang GT 5spd
I raced a 99-05 Mustang GT 5spd(Probably stock) that same day before work. The race with the mustang was from a 5-10mph, I pull on him half a car. Shift into 2nd and can't catch no traction with the bald tires in the rear and start fish tailing, I let off and give it wot again but he pulls me 1 car as I shift into 3rd. I thought I was gonna lose then the "MAGICAL" 3rd gear pulls me right next to him head to head as I shift into fourth and start to inch off of him but a light was coming up so we let off and i gave him a thumbs up and he did the same as he turned to the right turning lane.

So I tell my co-worker about the race with the mustang and he says "I don't believe you. I said "why not?" then he replies with "Because I don't think you can beat me and 99-05 Mustang GT's run low 14s." I then say, "so how do you know if I don't run low 14's?" I then tell him let's settle this rivalry at last and we will know who is telling the truth. He shows up at my house at 11pm. I didn't want to lose to a civic so I put on some 205/50/16 Yokohama AVS ES100 which are a tad bit smaller than stock but better off than the 225/50R16 Yoks that were bald. So the front was a little higher, but its only for one race.

91 TII vs. 06 Civic Si Coupe
We start from a dead stop in the countryside area where I live. I launch at 2500rpm, because I didn't know how it would be with the smaller tires and didnt want to peel out to bad, but I should of launched higher because I end up bogging and it drops to around 1k, but gave it WOT and as soon as it picked up it pulled me right next to the civic and shift to 2nd with a half car lead. He then starts pulling very slowly to my fender by the end of 2nd gear and I shift into 3rd gear. I then get HELLA MAD 3RD GEAR SPOOL YO! Pull on him 1 1/4-1 1/2 a car as we shift into 4th gear. We get back to my pad and he has a big smile and is shocked that he lost. I showed him the recorded stock boost on my boost controller and asked him did he get a good launch and he says he did, and says catching traction on the street sucks compared to the track. but i mention "hey, at least you didn't bog out on the launch". then he smiles and shakes my hand, cuz he knows I probably would of pulled him much further with a better launch and with more boost.

Btw, sorry for the long story.

if your motor runs good, you should have no problem. You just drive the two cars and you can tell the difference. My friend has a 06 civic si coupe, so thats how i knew i would win.

this is a 06 civic si with a k20 motor, not to be underestimated. Yea, i beat him with a bogged out launch, but the k20 is not that bad for something that gets 29mpg.

yea, I probably would of revved my 7 to redline until it blew up. but i already knew I was gonna beat him if i beat the mustang gt. i honestly already had a great feeling I was gonna have a bad launch at 2500 rpm, but I wanted him to see that I was superior. didn't expect that bad of a launch though. lol.

14.8 is pretty quick but not fast.

Yea, I just got it up and running like last month. It runs good but has a high idle at 1200rpm until i drive it for a bit. I'll be doing the Throttle Body mod to fix it though. My old car was alright, but the new one should be way faster next month.
