1990 300zx vs my FC

i have a all motor s4 crate motor from japan...i was drivin around 2 days ago, when a 300zx started laughing at my exhaust (its really loud) so he tried to give me a fly by, so i dropped to 2nd, pulled on it by about 1.5-2 cars? with a friend in the car...then i missed 3rd and let off and he passed me...arent those 300zx's supposed to be pretty fast?

what mods do you have? it was probably a non turbo which is a mid 15 second car... if it was a turbo it wouldve been a 15 second car... and if it was a twin turbo it wouldve been a 14 second car... and if it was a 91 2+2 it wouldve been a 16 second car... so..

i bought the motor from my friend...atkins and other rotary tuners in washington say its a crate motor...it was a offbrand clutch, pace setter header, straight pipe, stock y pipe and 2 offbrand tips, racing beat springs, racing beat rear sway bar, wired open 5th 6th ports, no emissions, new water pump (still leaks) and thats about it...the 300zx was N/A 2 seater...

In Japan there isn't such thing as a NA motor for our cars. Every FC there was turobcharged. So I find it hard to beleive that it's an NA crate motor from Japan.

You sure he didn't get a Mazda remain? Or a used engine?

Pacesetter also isn't anything they'd use in Japan I'm sure.

Yeah, I think the old 300zx's were only single turbo (You know. The Z31's). I can see them being mid 15's.

well call atkins and ask if there is such a thing, and why wouldnt a header that fits american 13B's not fit a japanese one? thats like saying a racing beat downpipe wont fit a japanese motor... and they did make a N/A motor in japan, it was a hybrid, never put into a car, thus a "crate motor" or "never in a car motor" i guess you could say

ive seen the motor it is quite an odd motor... it is indeed a 6 port engine, but the ehxuast diffusers are not there. and then also the passenger side mount is very strange... instead of under the oil pan like on an FC it is on the side of the center iron( similar looking to the driver side mount)

There were no 6 port FC's in Japan, they were all 4 port turbo.

Might be an early 13b (pre-FC), though. But early 13b's had the motor mount bolt to the front cover, so I'm not sure about that center iron.

Oh and yah, it was probably a non-turbo 300zx, those aren't that fast.

There isn't a crate NA motor from Japan.

And I was reffering the header quality . It's also as american as pie, REAL JDM yo. Also double check your comphrehension. I didn't say anything about it fitting.
