1.8T Jetta vs GT

On my way to work this morning one of the rich old guys who lives in the hills above my place was coming down into town with his GT. The thing looked nice, but it was such a waist of money. After I went through the first stop light he turned out behind me and ended up stopped beside me at the next light.

As I was looking up and down the GT, I saw him looking over at me. I kind of gave him a nod of approval. He looked at my car and shook his head. Now, I don't like people dissing my cars, even if it's a Jetta I bought for my wife, so I reved my engine at him. He just looked over and adjusted how he was sitting. The carbon fiber look was a little rice for my taste, but oh well.

Just before the light turns green I see him brace himself and take off like a bat out of hell. The first think that ran through my head was "oh hell no" and I dropped the clutch. My turbo spooled in no time and I was closing the gap. Nothing he could do. I shift into second and spin my tires a bit, but I managed to keep it under control. As I got into third gear I thought it was going to be close, but the massive power of the 1.8 liter was too much for him. As I passed him I knew exactly what he was thinking... "I wish I had more then 20 gears". Too bad for him.

I always new my Jetta could take his GT.

I figured that was applicable since the rest of the forum was a joke as well.
