GSL-SE vs. 2000+ Jetta 1.8T

I saw this jetta in front of me on the way to the grocery store and happened to catch him at a perfect light. It had some fake *** badges on the back (can't remember what it said, whatever the vw version of dinan is...) and it also said 20V (which is stock). It was a 1.8T cause I could hear his turbo spooling but I really thought he would pull me cause face it, my car isn't that fast and he has a turbo and about 50hp on me, plus more torque. I'm also guessing he was completely stock because it was quiet, not even an exhaust.
I started about a half car ahead and we both take off slowly, as soon as I saw him coming up in my peripheral vision I punched it in first. We were both pretty much dead even but I wound it out to 8k and managed to pull ahead on every shift up to about 80-85 in third (whatever redline is). It was really satisfying to hear his turbo blow off after every shift (even tho it sounded weak as ****) and still be ahead. He immediately took the next left turn as I went straight. I just really enjoy beating virtually brand new cars with my 20 year old bucket. My first turbo kill

Good kill. I ran a stock '04 GLI from a roll and was dead even, then killed him from a dig.

1.8Ts are slow cars.

I can't find specs for the Jetta, but the '03 Passat 1.8T has a 0-60 of 8.2 seconds, quartermile in 16.3.

Apparently it is pretty ******* slow if I can stay in front of it... But it still has a turbo and I don't.

A Passat is considerably heavier then a Jetta, which is what the guy who made this thread raced.

It needs a streetport and/or a turbo sooooooo bad....

Give Me Your Money!!!!!!!!

I literally will have 20 bucks in the bank after I pay my rent for this month.

It's tough to spend money on a car you drive about twice a week when you don't have enough money to eat.

and low 15's/ high 14's from the rb exhaust is bullshit. I'd be happy if I knew I was actually breaking into the 15's LOL.
